Day 3 in Milan

Day3:

Had a hearty breakfast provided by hotel Berna. Took a shower and off we went to duomo. On the way to central station, saw peddlers at the central square area and bought a fridge magnet as souvenior. Upon reaching, we saw the magnificent cathedral (Duomo) and we went ahead to get the entrance ticket to the rooftop via lift.

The cathedral had very high ceiling, chandeliers, huge oil paintings I assume, statues, blowpipe piano, stain glass etc.

It was simply amazing. We were there for quite sometime, enjoyed the breeze and sunshine on the rooftop, took loads and loads of pictures and then head for a late lunch at burger king. oh ya, we paid 15 cents for 2 packs of tomato sauce!

After lunch, we walked around to do some window shopping and sight seeing, bought a photo frame from milano store along the way, and went to a gelateria for ice-cream :)

We then got to a departmental store named La Rinascente and had dinner at the highest level of the departmental store, open air (with a lot of smokers) over seeing the magnificient duomo. The restaurant was obika, mozeralla bar. The food was nice, but it the cheesy mozeralla was too much for us to take it!

Before we left we took a few more pics n returned to hotel where we book tickets for Paris disneyland, tickets for lion king musical, tickets to London eye, madam Tussaud and Thames river cruise.

Journal (Day 1 and 2 - London to Milan)

While waiting for dear to processed the photos from our honeymoon trip, I'm gonna start posting on some of the things that we saw/did/went during the 3 weeks of honey moon. Pictures will be uploaded to facebook when done. ;) Be patient!

Day 1 : Transiting in London to Milan

Ibis hotel - Budget hotel.

We reached London Heathrow around 8pm. Slight delay due to busy airport runway, hence we took a few rounds hovering above the sky before landing. Upon landing, all we could feel was the intense coldness! Cold and tired, we quickly retrieve our luggage, bought a hoppa bus ticket and got to our budget hotel to stay for a night before flying to Milan. I was already having dry skin and bloodshot eyes due to the long flight from SG! I hit the bed immediately.

Day 2

Woke up at 6am to get to the airport. Time for our first destination - Milan! It was an hour half flight to Malpensa airport. We flew over snow mountains in clear blue sky! Pretty!

This is me, with some Arc at the very end of the castle. We walked quite a distance to reach this point.

Bought a bus ticket to central station and then walked to our hotel. Berna hotel. Upon settling down, we headed out for late lunch around central station, and then bought 2 day metro pass and went to Castello castle, Arc de pace and San Siro stadium. Dear wanted to catch the soccer match there, but all the cheaper tickets were sold out. He was really really down. Further more, we walked a VERY long way to the stadium. =( It was really tiring.

Last but not least, we saw this cart selling tidbits to tourists and I noticed that the chinese description for ice cream was really hilarious. "冰激凌"

Heavy hearted, we went back to the hotel and fire up tripadvisor app on iphone to search for a reasonable place to have our dinner. Le Osteria del Treno was the name of the restaurant. It was quite a good meal, but I didnt have much appetite due to the jet lag. Dear didnt felt the jet lag coz after all he was a frequent traveller! We returned to the hotel after dinner and I went to sleep after a shower.

Penang shopping

Reached Penang very late last night. Went to sleep

Woke up around 6am n got ready for “sweep tomb”. I was lucky, it's a cloudy morning. Starting drizzling after we were done :) reached home n took a short nap.

Went shopping after lunch n got myself a nice pajamas, a pair of boots and 3 tops. Yeah! Had my craving for rojak fixed n right now resting at home again before having dinner.

One more week!

Today is Friday and Dear is coming home this Sunday! Yeah! haha!

Just one more week to my honeymoon!

Mid week

It's Wednesday. I started on a new course of drugs for the treatment of my acne. Yes, I'm on drug again. I hate that. I am sick of taking pills every single day. I had no choice - all for the sake of acne-free skin. I have to persevere. I'm going to stop taking medication once and for all when I'm done with this drug. This time, I am truly determined.

I had done the itinerary for my Europe trip. I hope that it is acceptable to my dear. I spent some time doing it. =)

As i'm staying over at my mum's place currently, the kids at home are keeping me entertained. They brought me laughter every time I see them after returning home from work. I love them so much!

Sis called and said that her 2 girls requested to have a stay over at my house this Sat out of the blue, and I agreed. :) I love them too!

Weak and fragile period

It's time of the month + falling sick again and again made today's parting a bit tough for me. Dear got up at 5am and started preparing himself for his biz trip, while I lazed around on the bed, still feeling tired, refusing to open my eyes.. but I was wide awake all the moment, watching/listening him getting prepared.

I called out to him and signalled to him just to let him know that I was awake, so that he would come to bid me goodbye before leaving. I was so afraid that he would just leave, not wanting to disturb my sleep..

And there he came, sat beside me on the bed, telling me to take care of myself while he's on biz trip. We hugged and he kissed me on my lips and forehead, saying "goodbye". A sudden rush of feelings came and tears welled up. I replied with "you take care too, I miss you. Bye" and he walked off. I heard him closed the door and I went back to rest til it's time for me to get up and prepare for work. Being sick and alone in the house made me missed him so much.

I want to get well soon. I am so sick of taking so many medications. I want to be healthy, so that I can enjoy my upcoming honeymoon.

Fixed, and not fixing it again

My 3 cracked wall tiles had been fixed yesterday by our ID without having to pay, coz it's still under renovation warranty. I guess it's theirs (and ours) luck for having crack walls and tiles, damaged due to HDB re-roofing project just right after we had our renovation done. Pui!

The 3 wall tiles were fixed and right after the man left, we found another piece of crack tile... i guess it cracked due to the installation of the other pieces. Dear said that the dust and work to be done after the installation was too troublesome to go through again. Thus, we have to live with the crack one.

2 more weeks.

2 more weeks to my honeymoon in Europe! I'm so looking forward to relax and do sightseeing for 3 long weeks in cold/cool weather with dearie. :)

Ever since the decision to go Europe, I have been asking myself (and some others) to buy or not to buy a branded. It's obviously cheaper than Sg, but a branded needs thousands, even I save hundreds. Will that justify my spending? Anyway, I have come to a decision. NOT to buy. Seeing my fabric Gucci right now lying under my study table growing/smelling moldy, torn and dulled from everyday use (for 2 years), seeing it landing to this state, I still feel a bit wasted even though it had served me good. I couldn't even bear to throw it away.. it's a bit of wasting space as well eh. I just hope that my decision will not be swayed upon reaching the galleria of Paris. ;p

Desaru, Farewell.

I went Desaru over the weekend, on a road trip, with my colleagues. Initially it was to be a gathering getaway before Shirly leaves to further her studies in Japan... then, it had also become a gathering before Nat leaves for a greener pasture. =(

Driving up to Desaru was not an easy task. It was tiring, especially for the drivers. Long roads, glaring sun, lazy afternoon, pot holes on the ground etc, I think you guys can imagine how tough it was. Thanks everyone for making this trip enjoyable. I surely did enjoy myself. :)

Had our early farewell lunch for Shirly and Nat this afternoon, at rochester park, Northborder. Food was good and dessert was nice. :) We had a fun time doing crazy stuff in the lab, taking pictures and laughing hard. Happy time flies fast, and Nat is leaving first this Friday and shirly's next.

All the best to them! We will miss having you girls around!

Backdated post

Yesterday was our first year wedding anniversary, the date that we signed on the papers. I took 2hours off work and dear came to pick me up in a cab.

We went iluma to buy a bag that I fancied, then we went to Resortworld to explore and take pictures. We had our dinner at Osia bar and restaurant, which I think the pre-dinner set menu was quite worth the money. 3 course dinner with 4 options on appetizer and main course each, and it cost only 38++ per set. The dessert was a surprise - melted chocolate with black pepper vanilla ice cream. Delicious! I need to add in that the portion of food was not huge, just nice for ladies. So men may need a double serving! Most importantly, their service was great! Will return next time i guess. :)

After dinner, we went to take the cable car ride to Jewel box, the place where we exchanged our vows a year ago. We choose Moonstone (restaurant) for our short chilling session, enjoying the pretty night scene for a bit before we decided to take the cable ride to harbourfront city and take a cab home.

Blockage

I'm having block nose on and off (mostly on) every single day ever since end of Dec 2010. it's a bad start really. I did went to see a doc, but still the same (I do admit that I didnt take meds regularly). It's terrible. I wont know which day I would wake up with puffy or swollen eyes, due to the backflow of muscus from nasal to eye area. I'm having it right now - block nose, and slightly swollen right eye.

Block nose usually works up in the night just before i sleep, or when i wake up and then stretch into the early morning. It's really inconvenient. I cant have a good sleep at night, and I cant focus at work in the day. Afternoon time it will get better, but it will start again if I had something spicy or some allergens to trigger it off.

I can't help but to think, to have cause this long time flu-like block nose for nearly 2 months and without recovery is the work by some parasites. haha! Too much of hearing and watching a few episodes of monster inside me!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Since this special day falls on a monday. I wonder if monday blues will get in the way? haha. I bet those young couples or romantic couples already have the activities tonight well-planned or maybe they might have pre-celebrated the special date yesterday, since it was a weekend. Nevertheless, I hoped everyone will enjoy this special day with your love ones.

As for me, my significant other is not able to be with me as he is out on Biz trip in NZ. But he still whatsapped me the first thing in the morning to have a happy v-day. :) What surprised me though, was the bouquet of purple roses delivered to my office~! Thanks hubby!

CNY flashdrive

See this cute flash drive? Dear got it for me in Penang. Thanks! He mentioned that this is his cny gift for me and thus he wants one in return. I replied to him saying, that's a compensation of leaving me alone in singapore n not having enough time to keep me company through this cny.

And guess what, he whatsapp me and said he is going for shopping in Penang island today. -_- Enjoy lo! I'm down here working.... ;p

CNY

First few days of CNY is over. Dear and I went over to Penang 2 days before the eve of CNY - 1st Feb. We spent the 2 days hunting for our new year clothes. :) I got a dress, 6 pcs of undies, 2 polo tees and 1 pair of slippers. Dear got himself 3 polo tees, 2 shirts, 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of birkenstock sandals! So much more then me!

Anyway, on the eve of CNY, we prayed to our ancestors and had steamboat for lunch and dinner. -_-. Not very appetising I must admit. But luckily the not so appetising day was compensated by a nice buffet dinner and a nice lunch the next day before I returned to Sg. :)

Spent my sat at sis house and brought my mum to watch it's a great great world on sun.

And I gotta work today.

So busy til I feel that I do not have enough time to rest, not much of "me" time. *yawnz*

I'm flying to Penang tomorrow with dear for CNY. This is the first time I spent my CNY with my significant other's family and will be from now onwards. (of course, unless I'm pregnant or something, maybe i can escape for a year or two. haha)

So to fit to my schedule, my family had our early reunion dinner yesterday, plus a bday celebration for our dad. I can see that my dad was really happy yesterday, especially when he received the ang bao from me. haha. (bday angbao and CNY combined - and yet he requested for another one -_-)

Dear also tried out his new camera lens yesterday on the kids. It's really nice. I like it too. haha~ As I'm lazy to learn those apertures thingy, I just use the mode dear sets. If the picture's not nice, I just switched to auto mode. The effect still turns out very nice! haha. Anyway, it's tough to capture active child's photo, so most of our pics are blur. We need to practice and brush up our photography skills!

Angry bird 343

I kept forgetting to post this picture here. This is the bird that we took care of for a week, before dear flew off for biz trip. He managed to capture this angry expression before it's lunch. That's really an angry bird. hehee

This bird, named 343(coz she was found at blk 343), is currently back with her savior. 343 was found in a big drain in clementi. 2 guys lifted up the drain cover and Suz went down to pick her up, and sent it to a vet. Having no injuries, 343 was free to go.. but the problem was, she's still a young bird and didnt know how to fly, so suz had to find someone to take care of her, since she already had her hands full.

We volunteered and took care of her for a week, and she had learn how to fly. However, she is still not able to let go to the wild because she is not able to feed itself. Thinking of monkey see monkey do, we return 343 back to Suz and hoped that 343 is able to learn feeding by watching Suz's crow and pigeon. Another week passed and 343 is still not able to feed for herself.

Let's hope that 343 is able to feed soon and leave to start its own family!

Cutie pies

Dear is in Korea right now. He tried to skype with me yesterday but my 3G connection at mum's house sucks. Plus, bro changed to openet optic fibre and yet (and highly unlikely) to install a router. Hence, no wireless. Sigh. The least I could do was to whatspp him. Whatsapping wasnt an easy task as well. I kept losing connection and kept re-sending msgs. -_- oh well, let's see how again tonight.

I'm staying at my mum's place this week and this means that I get to play with lil' yixin and yiting! Both of them are really happy to see me back (well, that's what i think from their rxns)! hee. Yiting has more teeth now! Haha! She's having 2 more teeth coming up on the top row, so cute! I just love her smile and her cheeks (+cheeky face) *melts*

This is pretty yixin all ready to go to school!

2nd week.

We are going to get D90 this weekend. :) One new toy to play! So excited! Yeah!

Plus, we are going shopping for suits/pants (dear) and probably a pair of flats for me. Yeah! Yeah!

Last but not least, after a few days of getting the iphone, I want to say thanks to Nat for installing whatsapp for me (then KK went to purchase the app after seeing mine coz it's really convenient and cheap when he's out on biz trip) and I managed to get linked up with my friend over in Aust as well. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Facial package

Went to Drx clinic yesterday and signed my first ever facial package that cost 1030 bucks. Also for the facial products and medication to curb my ongoing outbreak is another 230 bucks. Ouch. Felt a pinch, but I just hope that all is worth it.

Silly goose.

The silly goose in my house went to the airport counter, waiting for his flight to India (for biz). He only realised that his visa for India had expired upon attempting to check in. He then had to call the India counterparts and his boss who will be traveling with him and explain the situation. He rushed home and send the information required to his boss. Right now he is at India embassy first thing in the morning, trying to get his visa to be approved within today's working hours (fingers crossed) and rush to the airport and fly to India, if possible.

If not, he may have to cancel the trip. Gosh. A black mark made due to negligence.

But, I still have the goose with me.. hehee

Week 1, 2011

Just want to update a little on things I've done this week.

We finally got the TV and soundbar in the bedroom wall mounted... and bought extension and use cable wrap and 3M hooks to make the wires look less messy. I bought wall decals online (and still awaiting for delivery) to paste around the wires so well.

We also mounted a round metal piece in the study room. That's where we will place our collections of magnets from the countries that dear or we went to. :)

Also, I got bought the 3M hooks to hang up my masterpiece. A cross stitch I did a few months ago to celebrate our wedding.

We also mounted our wall clock. and I'm so loving it. It made the plain white wall looks interesting.

I bought a mouse to replace the faulty one at home. It's a cute one that lits up once I on my vaio. No picture, coz i'm lazy to take and upload anymore.

We bought a bar counter to place at the corner of our house. ;) The delivery is scheduled after CNY. So, picture will be up later.

Also, dear bought me an iphone (32gb), and I already started using it. Activated the sunsurf data plan from M1. Right now, my ipod touch is solely for music and gaming purposes and my iphone is for phonecalls and smses.

Quite a nice start of the year... BUT I was sick since 1st Jan.. and now I'm still sick. Self medication doesnt seems to help.

Oh ya! I have to say THANKS to my dad who helped me for the drilling and screwing, so that we can mount all those items up.

My 2011

I started off my year with my mum, my bro and sis family coming over to my house to have steamboat dinner. I really enjoyed myself, with mum helping in getting meat and some of the utensils lacking in my house, my sis getting drinks and prepared dessert, and myself buying those steamboat ingredients a day before with dear and mum. Though we didnt have the dinner together on a table (coz someone had to take turns in feeding the hungry kids first), we had fun.

After dinner, we sat around watching the serial 爱. We switched on the aircon and the kids had fun playing and jumping around on the sofa bed in the study room. They screamed and shouted and got into hyperactive mode. After the serial, when mum announced that they were going home, my sis's daughter Felicia made a request to stayover at my house. :) Of course I agreed! My sis hesitated for a moment and acceded to her request.

They got up early in the morning and shouted a bright "good morning" to me. I'm so happy. They are all so cute and innocent. ;p They said that they enjoyed the night's stay and will like to have more of these next time. We waited for brother-in-law to come and pick up sis and the 2 girls, and we went to have breakfast together before they headed home.

Right now, I'm feeling a bit sick-lish. No appetite at all. Blocked nose. Didnt have the energy to clean and tidy up the house. Lucky that I'm off the next 2 days so that I can recuperate and do some chores.

Anyway, I know. I'm having those maternal instinct. Tell you guys frankly, one of my new year resolution this year is to conceive.

Just another boring post

Christmas is over and New Year's coming. 2011. Time flies.

kk's mum + Aunty + Cousin + Niece came over to our house for a short stay on 23 Dec and returned on the 26 Dec. There's actually not much entertaining to be done for my part, simply because I'm didnt take leave off work, and they drove down from Penang and the car could only take 5 people. ( though dear kept asking me to squeeze into the car but I strongly didnt want to take the risk). So they went to orchard road for the Christmas lighting on the first day, universal studios on the 2nd day and zoo on the 3rd day. On the 4th day, we brought them to clementi market to have breakfast, and then off they returned to Penang.

After they left, I had a lot of chores to be done - like, packing and tidying up the room they slept in, my laundry and the routine chores. BUT i havent even started on the chores. haha. yeah, call me a lazy bum. ;p

alright, thats all for now. I shall think of a post to round up 2010 soon. Til then!

My embarrassing moments

Makeup can make a normal girl pretty, and make a normal girl look ugly (ghostly) depending on the skills of the makeup artist.

Ok now. I tried to forget how ghostly I looked during my Penang wedding, until the cruel (but innocent) sis posted the pictures up on Facebook to share to EVERYONE..worst still, she tagged me. Haha! Since I think it's a bit too late to ask her to remove/untag, I shall graciously post the ghostly pictures on my blog to let you guys see.

Well, I cant complain much.. coz it's some cheap cheap salon in Malaysia. I'm not trying to say all salons in Malaysia are lousy, but at least the one that I went to was, making the whole day lousy for me. Everyone wants to be the prettiest on that special day.. and not, erm... ghostly...

Seriously. I should have remove the makeup back to the natural me on that night.. But then KK was already showing signs of anger when I kept on whining about the lousy makeup that evening... that's why I kept the makeup on. Furthermore, it's my MIL who source for the salon and paid for it. I couldnt do something that will risk my MIL-DIL relationship right?

One conclusion. Always find a reputable makeup artist. If not, go natural.

My dear

My dear has been stuck in the airport for dunno how long, due to the freezing of runway and centimeters thick snow.

He got "trapped" in Birmingham first for about 8 hours, before he was able to fly to Amsterdam.. Due to the delay, he was unable to catch his connecting flight back to SG and hence, forced to stay in the airport hotel for a night without his luggage. For your information, Singapore airlines only have 1 flight per day from Amsterdam to Singapore.

Right now, he is at the airport.. but he is fifth on the waiting list due to overbooking! The KLM airline told KK that they couldnt trace his luggage! WTH! I guess the airport is really in a mess right now. I dont mind if they delay returning the luggage as long as it is not missing!!!! If he is sooooo unlucky, he will not be able to board the plane today... and had to stay for another night in the hotel without his luggage, PLUS I can only see him on Wed.

Please give him some luck from me. I miss him.

Suayness

I rushed all the way to my hairdresser's place once my office clock struck 5.30pm. I rushed all the way walking at lightning speed coz I got an appt with her at 6pm - city hall. I don't wanna be late, coz I'm catching a movie with my niece at jurong point at 7.55pm. Upon reaching the place, I'm so glad that I'm only 2 mins late. God, I'm fast. To my surprise, the salon was empty. Real empty. I quickly called my hairdresser to ask where she had moved to, hoping it is still within the building itself.. She only picked up my call after the 3rd redial n an SMS. She said that she had moved to clarke quay, and then expected me to meet her there.

I felt so sore upon hearing it. She didnt make a point to update her loyal customers on her relocation! I asked her when is the next available slot, and she said she's very busy with her current relocating of the salon, and so she'll contact me again if I can't make it today. Super sian. To think that I moved in lightning speed and with my slippers and puddles of water after a heavy rain, my white skirt turned into grey polka dots. Wasted my $$$ and time traveling as well. Right now I'm on the train going towards jurong point. I hope suayness don't come in threes, coz suay number 1 is the wasted trip, number 2 is the grey polka dots.

Ok, one good thing to end my day... Rapunzel is a nice show. I love princess movie!!

Killing some time by blogging

Today all the bosses are having board meeting at Shangri-la Hotel.. thus, it's no government time again~! haha. Morning routine work are done.. so right now, I'm having plenty of time to blog before heading for lunch.

Today's thursday, and I am counting down to the day where dear will be back from birmingham. To think that he stayed on 1 more day just to watch his favourite soccer team, Newcastle's away match before returning. He really knows how to enjoy eh.

Been staying at my mum's house for the past 2 days. I really enjoyed the accompany there.. Especially seeing the kids running towards me and giving me a big hug whenever i got home - I think they missed me as well. Probably a not-so-good thing about staying in mum's house is, I don't have a dry area to get change!

This evening I'm popping back to my house to check on the letterbox (i'm waiting for my health screening results for some time already) as well as removing all those leaflets and newspaper that are stuck on my house's gate. I can't stop pple from putting adverts and distributing newspaper when I'm away.. but it's a bit not safe (i think) to let pple know that you are not around at home.

Praying.

The more I think about it, the more worrying I get.. The symptoms are obvious but somehow I want to be delusional. I am afraid that he is the confirmed case of SMA. I googled and did some research.. the articles give a wide range of life expectancy... can be from age of 2 to 3rd decade of life.

Of course, I pray that he is alright... but as a science student, I can't help but to think of the worst case scenario.. Let's pray for his blood results to be negative of the SMN gene mutation.

I'm so sad. I'm so afraid. Oh god, he's just a baby.

Random introduction.

Introducing Penang's Roast Pork rice! Each piece of roast pork is finely cut into slices but retains the crisp, and coated with delicious sauce! I didnt like to eat pork.. but I tried some and it was great!

Not to forget, my all time favourite rojak. Each piece is coated with the black sticky sauce, and the boss was generous with the peanut coating. :) This rojak is not like our local, where it'll turn watery after a while. A must-have dish whenever I'm back as Penang!

It's over. Penang wedding.

Alrighty! It's been a while. I'm done with my 2nd wedding in Penang. It's not a very exciting day, coz I felt a tad shitty due to:
1. Ugly makeup by not so professional salon
2. Boring + communication breakdown coz i couldnt understand cantonese
3. My heels strap broke.

Nevertheless, I'm happy with my dear, who tried his best to lessen the shittiness I mentioned above. I'm also happy that everyone enjoyed the dinner as the food was tasty. Best of all, my family members who were willing to take leave and flew there to give me moral support. :)

It's not an easy task to handle such a large group of people, especially young kids. They are curious, hyperactive and long-winded. They ran around like there's no tmr. And they couldnt keep up their energy level to last the whole day... so we returned without much shopping and sight-seeing. I didnt take much pictures, but i'm sure my Sister-in-law and sis did. At least they were all house under 1 hotel, whereas I stayed with my husband's family. :( I'm so envious that they could all stay together when I'm not.. and I think I will never get to have a opportunity like this again.

Anyway, Dear's flying to europe for biz trip this weekend for a week.. and I shall be alone in the house for a few days and then return to stay with my mum for a few days as well. I miss all of them!!

Sick

I started running a fever yesterday evening. After I got home from mum's house, I took a quick shower and went straight to bed.. Never to think that I had a nightmare related to work!

I dreamt that I was going to take half day mc coz of fever, so I told natori-San about it... But he didn't want to approve and instead said that I can stay in the office and rest and finish a report for him and so I need not do lab work! I was feeling really terrible and out of breathe and fell to the floor when SY came to hold on to me. I was gasping for air. She then shouted if anyone has those puffer and then JS came. I woke up with a fright and it was 11pm...

I went out to get a drink and by then my fever was way high. I couldn't hear coz of ear blockage and I don't have any energy left in me.. I returned to bed as soon as I drank.

Right now, still running slight fever, I'm blogging while lying on bed. My knee caps are sore and I felt giddy when standing... Will go for a doctor soon as I gathered the strength.

一分钱一分货

It's nice to have Koby out of town once in a while.. coz we wont have much things scheduled to do.. Just normal cell line maintaining and other routine stuff. :) He will be coming back next monday... I'm so not use to this kind of free time. Hah.

Yesterday I got my wedding photo CD from my sis.. our 2nd photographer on our wedding day (the lady). We only looked through once and now the CD is just lying on the table. I can't believe my sis actually introduce this sub-standard friend of hers to me.. Ok, I can give her credit for the point that she worked hard for the whole day and she even took leave... Seriously, I can do the same job with point and shoot digi cam. -_- I regretted to agree to take her without looking at her portfolio.. and I did ask her many times for samples of her pics and she kept on delaying til I had no choice but to agree on it. That's a very wrong move.

I havent got back the photos from my main photographer (which is 5x more ex than the lady). But I believe it's really 一分钱一分货。 I pinned high hopes for his pictures. Don't let me down YK!

To add as a reminder to ourselves, we havent get the videos from the videographer as well! Need to contact them!

Half day off with mum

Took half day off to accompany mum for her doctor's review after the ct scan and bone scan done on Monday. Mum went for the scans as she was experiencing sharp pains in her knees as well as she found 2 hard spots around tummy area. Anyway, the results didn't give us answers to the problems and instead more problems surfaced -_-

First thing first, bone scan was ok... Then the ct scan scanned a tiny stone in the gall, slight swelling in one of the kidneys and 1cm3 polypoidal lesion in the cervix. As we need answers to the hard spots, we had to go for biopsy next week and another doctor's review. The doc referred us to gynae for the cervix lesion. Let's hope everything fine for mum.

We went ntuc after that, coz mum wants to cook for me :) as I was walking around, I picked up a gold chain. I looked around but seems like no one was looking for it.... So finder's keeper. Quite a nice one actually, but we decided to sell it off to the pawn shop tonight.

Theme birthday celebration

I wanted to post pictures on my house.. but after reviewing them, I found that my house was not in the nicest condition = messy. Haha.. So i decided to postpone the post and retake the pictures when my house is ready... or when I'm ready to make the house tidy. ;p

So now, I shall blog about yesterday. Ryker's first birthday celebration. It was held at NSRCC, at changi coast walk... we brought along the "costume" in Jungle/safari theme that we made just a few days ago.. At that point of time, I was thinking, everyone will probably dressed up in animals.. so I shall have those insects and creepy crawlies... I went to a party shop in Holland V and bought those crawlies.. Then we got home and KK brought out his unwanted white Tees for me to draw and stick on. Tadaa~~ it's done.. and both of us had a disgusted look on our face, asking each other " are we really going to wear this?" haha

Back to yesterday, we reached there and I wanted to put on the costume that we made. Kk refused and said he wanted to see if there's anyone else dressing up. He didnt want to be the odd one out. Indeed, upon reaching, everyone was just in theme color - green, some with accessories in theme... but none of them had costumes that was like us. -_- Kk felt "cheated" and hence he refused to wear his.. but, as a spontaneous guest, I decided to put that on, not wanting to waste my effort (in purchasing the items and superglue-ing them, which in turn my fingers kena superglued). I felt a bit odd coz my husband forsake me and I had to wear that on my own. =( but after a while, I forgot about the costume and everything was just felt normal. haha. Oh! Forgot to mention, I got the best dressed gift from the host as well!! Thank you so much~!

We went back after the cake cutting ceremony (of course, i removed the costume). ZD drove us to the Expo train station and during the journey, ZX and I had a good chat... on work. haha~!! It was a long train ride back to bukit batok.. but luckily I had my ipod with me and we played games together...

Today's special

Went to support "Today's special" at Dempsey - Ben and Jerry's. They are there every saturday from 9 to 12 midnight. Go there, have your dessert and listen to the 2 guys playing music. :) Not bad! Oh ya, from the poster, you may notice someone familiar... and yup, it's Benny - our friend from poly.. :) Cool!

There they were, performing on the stage. We contacted benny and guess what, we had exclusive seats just right in front of them! Fantastic! We paid our bills and left around 11.30pm which then Kun+wify decided to send us back home, after hearing that both our houses layout are similar! It's really nice to have them as guest, just that it's too bad the time was late (around midnight) and we couldnt ask them to stay and chat a bit more. Next time maybe! Of course, it will be our turn to be their guest!

Rest and relax day

I'll be going to biopolis to meet my Jie meis later on (they took half day) and then we will head off for a mani and pedi session! :) Meanwhile I will pass 2 boxes of 喜饼 to my colleagues and ask them to put in the pantry.. The pastries were brought all the way here from Penang. I cant remember how many boxes are there... but I can only say, there's a lot. haha. Need to distribute them before they turn bad.

Tmr is the day! I'm excited! I hope that everything will go smoothly. :)

All ready

I had a tiring yet fulfilling weekend. :)

Here's the summary:
Sat:

• Lunch with Dear after missing him from his biz trip for 10 days.
• Did some cleaning and packing for the new house
• Chose the photos for montage and emailed to the person-in-charge
• Dear bought white shoes and bow tie at IMM, and some miscellaneous from Daiso for our house..
• Got back to my mum's house and packed up my stuff to be shifted over to new house..

Sunday:

• Borrowed car from my bro (he helped me to load some of the boxes) and I drove to my house which after that dear took over in carrying the boxes up...
• Went to have lunch with mum and then to NTUC and bought 4 cartons of drinks and some other stuff for wedding use...
• Unload partial NTUC loots to my mum's house and load a second round of boxes
• Went to our house and unpack and clean up again.

Our new house is ready for the wedding, and ready for the female owner to move in. :)

I wanted to blog about this after i got home last night, however I was too exhausted and hence headed off to bed instead.

First of all, I will like to say a big THANK YOU for all my friends, who took the time to come and have dinner with me - making it an enjoyable hens night dinner :) I'm sorry to have given the drinks a miss, coz as you girls can see, I recently had pimples outbreak that's too huge to be missed. I'm currently on the detox menu.. so no alcohol.


I'm really surprised yesterday. I was only expecting Hil and HC to have dinner together.. but in the end the whole group was already at the restaurant, waiting for me to start. No wonder Hil was trying to stall for time when I said we should go to the restaurant to wait... Hil and I had a good time talking, and there's no silence in between the chats. We had a lot to catch up.. coz afterall, it's sooooooooooo long that we havent see each other.


At last we walked towards the restaurant in chijmes and upon reaching, the whole group of girls (HC, Haz, Rach, SL, SY, SC, Na, YY and PY) were already there and they were waiting for the 女主角- which is me, to be the last one to come. :) After that, they mentioned that it was Hil who organised this dinner event. So sweet! [Thanks Vi too... too bad that she was sick and couldnt come]


We had our dinner and chatted for a long long time. For dessert, I was presented a cake.. in a shape of a man's body.. with the you-know-where in a 3D format. Candles was pushed all the way in, and I had to get it out from there. It was a mild treatment for a "hen".. luckily there's no need for me to get boxers from other guys, kisses from strangers etc. Thanks girls for letting me off with just the cake. haha. I didnt bring camera with me... so I have to wait for Hil and Haz to upload/or sent to me.

No other words can describe my feeling.. I felt so blessed to have all of you as friends. I'm so happy. Thank you once again my dear friends. Now I understand, no matter how long we didnt meet each other, as long as the feeling is there, we will always friends. I love you girls!

10 days and counting down...

Now it's 10 more days to my wedding. Getting the to-do list checked is my top priority for now. Thanks to RJ for helping me get 1 of the CD for my 2nd march-in.. and thanks to my galfriends who accompany me to get the CD for my 1st march-in ytd at HMV. Yes, due to copyright issues, the hotel only allows us to play original CD. PLUS, our montage/video highlights with songs - the company that does them need to have proper license too. If not, we cant play the videos too. So troublesome.

I need to get the itinerary confirmed with dear, and then I need to start writing on the little speech I'm going to give on that night. Some other things to do too. -_- I'm so lazy.

More Gmart shopping

I received the 3 dresses I bought from G market last week. I love the quality! Not bad at all! Maybe I will continue to buy from the same buyer next time. hehee. I bought those 3 dresses for 25 bucks only~! Today I went online to buy another long dress (from another buyer). Hope its of good quality as well. G market is really addictive and convenient. With just clicks away, you will receive the item in about 2 weeks or less. Their products are from Korea as well!

I havent been blogging for a while now... how time flies... just 14 more days, I'll be holding my wedding banquet.. I hope that day will go on smoothly without any hiccups.

Been shopping online a lot lately. G market is really a nice place to shop. Minus off the intensive flashing of the pictures, that is. haha. My orders mostly came from Korea. Received the polariod films and the first batch of clothes I'd ordered. Quality not bad! I introduced the Gmart to some of my colleagues.. and they too, got addicted. haha!

An exciting month ahead

Its a bit strange when there's nothing much to be done today, except to repeat an expt from yesterday. I had completed updating the logbooks, sent out emails to chase on the delivery date, and done stock check. So basically, nothing else to be done.

Dear's fallen sick yesterday.. I guess its from all those frequent flying that caused it. All he needs is a good rest i think. He's flying off again this weekend. =_=

Today's the last day of Aug... and coming up next I have several to-do list to clear. Will be choosing my wedding album layout this sat, and after confirming, we will be getting our album printed in 2 weeks time. Next, ZX's baby's full month and my nephew's 1 year old birthday bash. Food tasting for my hotel's banquet - and we arranged it on mum's bday.. LK's wedding dinner and last but not least, company retreat to batam! haha~ Exciting month ahead. :)

Not to forget, I really really have to get the confirmed guest list out. I'm sorry for being a slack bride-to-be!

Friday post.

I'm so so tired today. Had a night full of dreams. The ones I remember were, a friend of mine who has recently got married to a China guy was being murdered by her husband -_-. Another dream was about a little kid was selling a toy bomb to another kid.. the bomb got exploded and the boy got deaf... Then i returned to the stall and told the little boy I will take revenge... Violent dreams I had eh?

Probably too much stress that I got pimple outbreak as well. argh!!! Pimples go away! I want to be pretty on my wedding day!

Alright, as I was typing out this message, the Jap guy beside me passed me 2 logbooks and requested me to update them (cut & paste) when I'm free. I guess it's either he has been watching me pasting and updating logbooks diligently and hence wanted me to help him to do it, or he finds that i have a lot of free time. Extra work for me. I felt like I'm serving 2 supervisors instead of 1. Bleh.

Alrighty, let me post something while waiting for my hair to dry.

First of all, we had collected our wedding invitation cards. My friends and colleagues often asked me how many tables we will have, I could only answer - we will have a minimum tables of 25. This shows that we havent finalised the guest list yet! Hope to do so ASAP, so that I can start informing and distributing the wedding cards after the lunar 7th month.

Dear has been going on back-to-back business trips.. This is the 3rd week. He doesnt have the habit of calling or sms-ing me, regardless he's here physically or somewhere on the other side of the globe.. today I received an sms from him saying that he's in sydney currently and will be there the next few days... through that sms, somehow it made me feel better.. knowing that he's safe and sound, even though he is not near me.

I met up with Ting and Sen for dinner today, wearing my new pair of shoes.... it hurts like hell! That pair of shoes gave me a total of 7 blisters. I'm gonna stop wearing it for some time, until those blisters healed and when I have the courage to give the shoes another chance. Shoes need to be seasoned.

A date to remember

Had fun baking cake at ZX's house! I enjoyed the process of making the cake... all the ladies in the kitchen helping each other, and not to forget - there's an experience commander + baby giving out instructions on what to add next. :) hehee. It's fun! The end product was nice too! Dear and I ate a piece each and I brought home 2 slices for my family to try. :)

In addition, today marks the day where our GTI is sold. We drove back home from ZX's house, packed up the car and brought all those stuff back. Dear continued to pack his luggage, rest for a while and sent me back home.... the last journey back in that car. Goodbye GTI. I believe you will be in good care. :)

What's next? BMW!!!

Yesterday Nana, Vi and SC treated me to korean BBQ buffet for my birthday. Thank you dear friends! It was really nice to meet up with you guys and we talked about anything and everything. :) I missed those days when we worked together and have lunch almost everyday, together. thank you for taking leave in advance to be my jiemeis! hehee

Just now I met up with RJ, Gim and KS and they treated me to dinner. Thanks too! It seemed so long ago that the 4 of us met up... time flies when we were chatting, but then too bad that SOMEone needs to go back home and play lan game. -_-

Anyway, I think I need to send out SMSes to inform my friends on my wedding date. It's getting near now.. and I will only be getting the invitation cards by end of august~!

Eventful Thursday

My dear colleagues treated me to a hearty Macdonald meal this afternoon. :) Thanks girls! I will treat the coke glass as bday gift! haha. oh ya, must mention the delicious tiger beer sorbet and milo ping pong ice cream from island creamery, contributed by dear vanessa! We found out that the milo ice cream was more yummilicious when we add milo powder in it. hee~ sinful! but nice~!

After work, dear and I went to view a photographer's portfolio. He's a very nice guy. I think we are taking him, without the hassle of looking for another one. heh. We then went to Courts at Somerset and bought a rocking relax chair scheduled to be delivered to our house next monday. Then we went Takashimaya to get the birthday vouchers for myself - yes, company's birthday gift. I used the vouchers immediately to get the japanese door curtain I had been eyeing for (too expensive to get it without "subsidy" from company).. and what's more, there's an additional of 15% off! Haha!

Last stop for today - we went to Four seasons hotel to pick up our wedding cards. Time to source for printing service!

Time for me to go and sleep. Will be taking half day pm off tomorrow to relax, meet up with ting for dinner and then get ready to enjoy my birthday on Sat. :)

I just dont like dad keep asking me "is the insurance done yet" every S.I.N.G.L.E day he sees me. I'm like, texting the insurance agent everyday to rush her as well. I know the date of your road tax renewal, I did my part and she's not giving you what you want. Not my prob! All you need is patience!

I hate this shit that has landed on me.

If you guys start on something, end it. Dun make a phone call, start the hassle and just let others clean it up for you.

My sunday

Dear is more or less settled in our new house. Everything that we bought has arrived too. So right now, it's a fully furnished house. =) Not everything is unpacked yet. So no pictures yet. The boxes are still lying around. Today we'll be going to the Toyogo warehouse (or something) to get storage boxes.. and so I plan to start packing my bits in and slowly shifting in. :)

We went bowling today

Today was a free day for dear and I.. we had lunch at Queensway shopping centre (all the way there to have laksa) and then we drove to Jurong point - coz i wanted to go shopping... Just as we were queuing to enter the carpark, I suggested to go bowling... since I dont usually get to buy any clothes with dear. haha.. So, off we went to West coast recreation centre... =)

Before reaching, my only wish was to break my own score of 70, where I left off last time with my company's bowling event. So, to my own surprise and luck, I had a score of 133! 4 spares and 1 strike! Haha. So happy. Here's the prove. I didnt amend the score.

We had a second game and seemed like the luck was going for the both of us.. and I got 96 points. Well, dear lost to me twice :) and I think it was purely luck for me today. We will go back again someday, next time with more pple! hee

Frost bite is painful~!

Kena frostbite today. Not once, but many times. The most serious one is the big patch on my right arm. why did the freezer had to break down???? Argh!

House renovation done.

Alrighty, although dear is in Korea now, he still manage to finish up compilations of the pictures of our house before and after renovations, and then send me via MSN. Thanks for his hardwork! ( he even tried to take the picture from exactly the same position by seeing the previous picture on his laptop before taking them!)

First of all, our main door. We painted the door brown and the gate grey. Unlike the previous owner who likes vibrant colors - beige, blue and yellow.

Next, the living room. Blue painted cornice removed and L box was fixed up. A divider was up too. Not exactly for privacy, but for putting our future sofa there to extend the distance of the sofa to the TV.

Coming to the kitchen, their built-in were all hacked and black and white laminates were chosen. Empty space right in front is where our fridge currently located.

Common toilet. Nice wall tiles. Free mirror always look so cheapo. haha. So small!! But use first lah. We shifted the sink and moved the shower area to a corner... (which is not shown here)

Next is our master bedroom. Again, blue cornice removed, door painted brown and built in wardrode changed. We changed the lights as well! =)

Last but not least, our master toilet. Again, we shifted the shower to a corner, and a shower screen was built up to separate the wet and dry area.

Thats roughly what we did for the renovations. Probably more pics at the end of the month when our furniture is in~!

Renovation completed

Finally everything is done for our new house! Cleaning will be from this weekend onwards. Dear's parents will be comin down next week to help him shift house, and go temple to pray. They'll also be bringing those holdhold items that we may need, so that we won't have to spend money to get them. Thank you!

Next week our electronics and bed will be in, other furniture will be delivered to us in last week of June. :) when things are more or less done, I'll post up pictures!

Another update

We bought some of our furniture in JB last week. Spent about 2.8K for the following items:

• 3-seater sofa
• Shoe cabinet
• Dining table + 6 chairs
• TV console
• Coffee table
• 2 x 4-tier chest drawers
  

Next, we went to choose our wedding photos yesterday.. and we topped up about 3k for another 30 poses... I know that we were being kinda "cheated".. but the photos were really nice for us to give up! Haha. We threw away a lot of course, and after much bargaining (with sis as well - she went along with us) we settled for the amount. That's the gimmicks for bridal studios.. but photos are really the only items they use to earn profit eh.

Today, we went audio house to buy our electronics. we spent 3.3K for the following items:

Fisher and paykel 5kg Dryer

Original price should add up to around 5k .. but because we are using DBS credit card promotion - spend 2K in a single receipt will have $800 rebate... So we have 2 x 2K receipts and so we saved 1.6K in total! BUT there's a condition that we have to spend 18K within 12 months for the $800 rebate.. and hence, we have to spend 36K for 1.6K rebate.... understand? Haha. Well in case you might be wondering, how can I spend 36K within 12 months? Well, the answer to that is, we will be holding our wedding banquet this year! So we will hit the target. =)

So happy that many things are settled.. but those bills coming up will be tedious! Need to continue to save up!

Dad went to fix the lights in my new house today. He went early in the morning, even before I woke up. We got to the house around 11.30am and dad already started on the 2nd downlight. Doing downlights on L-box were really tough. Never realized that until I saw dad doing. He had to measure, draw, saw, withstand all those fine particles raining down and breathing in those harmful particles. He got to ensure that all those lights were in line, going up and down the ladder, connecting wires and switches etc etc. When fixing those lights that we bought, he had to figure out how to fix them up, drill holes through the ceiling and many more. Right now, everything is in place. One word, NICE!

Tmr (i think) dad will be going up again to change all the door knobs to handles, change the lock on the main door and gate, fix up the ventilator in the master toilet, and change the key of the letterbox.

Thanks Dad for having a part in fixing up my house. Sorry for asking you to do all those tough job. 辛苦了！

Re! hotel

The gathering just now was great. Although the topics revolved around the same thing, we just wouldnt get tired of it. :)

Re! hotel looks like another hotel 81, with retro theme. Food wise, so so.. and price, reasonable.

Short update on my house.

Just a short update of my house, currently most of the cabinets in my house are up. Except the top cabinet in the kitchen.. only the body is up, coz the laminate we chose were out of stock, and they will only be glueing those laminate up when the stock arrives. I love the laminate on my wardrobe. Just hope that I wont get tired when i look at it everyday. haha~

We had bought the lights for master and living room, kitchen and 2 toilets from lightings.com.sg.. will wait until the ID instruct to install.

Everything is still on schedule.. so should be getting the house in the end of the month!

Events for the next few days

Tonight will be going down to my house again to see the progress. As the reno schedule is pushed slightly forward (that means i can get my house sooner), I'm not sure what are they fixing on right now. If it's pushed slightly forward, I guess I should see the deliveries of the kitchen accessories, as well as my ID calling me to get the payment. After that, I'll be going down to JP to collect my phone that had been sent to repair, probably 4 weeks ago. It's finally done eh. Been waiting for soooo long. haha

Tmr will be our company event - watching Iron Man 2 in GV grand, Gold class! Yippee~! Nice. Too bad dear is in Taiwan right now, and he is thinking of catching the movie there. BUT he's unsure whether the show will be dubbed in chinese, which is, erm.. lame. haha.

Friday will be Ying's Bday celebration BBQ.. but I'm not sure where yet. She mentioned that it will be at east coast.. but no details yet. -_- will be texting her to confirm again.

Saturday! Dear will be coming back. hee. Will be fetching him by car (yes, this time he remembered to pass me the key) and then visit the house again... but then, he will be flying off in just a few days from there. -_-

He's back... and he's flying again.

Dear came back this afternoon and I took train to go meet him. Yeah, I didnt have his car key, so I couldnt drive to fetch him. It's ok. Taxi fare can be claimed.

He went home, took a shower and off we went to pick up his shoes he left in the bridal studio 2 weeks ago, after our photoshoot. Then we went to Northwest to choose our laminate for our cupboard, the vanity top, and the interior layout of our wardrobe. After that, we went to our new house to see the progress and then we went westmall to see if the offer for lenovo pc for maxonline is still on. Too bad the offer is over. =( Lastly, we went west coast plaza to have Dian Xiao Er. =)

We sorta travelled a lot today.. I enjoy dear being back with me.. BUT he's flying to Taiwan for biz trip again tmr noon. He told me after his Taiwan trip (returning on next sat) he may have to fly off again.

SO... time for me to buy the season parking ticket for my house.... so that i can use the car as and when i like. :)
