So fast~! It's been 5 days since I return from Japan... I really enjoy the weather there, although there're loads of walking to be done. Dear's supposed to be having a free day in seoul, and will be coming back next Monday. There are still a lot of things that we have to settle asap - that is to find our ROM venue.. It's really tough to find one that we both like... Thanks to my colleagues, they are constantly providing useful ideas.. =)

Work has been getting a bit bored... nothing interesting. To make it worse, I had my cultures contaminated - just after I came back from the trip. Haha.. I guess either I "lost" my skills during the 1 week break, or I had brought back bacteria from Japan.. Anyway, wont harp on it either, coz there's a solution and it's over. I had been extra careful since then. You know, a proud Leo doesnt like to suffer setbacks, even if it's the smallest mistake. Haha~!

Been uploading my Japan pictures in FB... and then I realised that MOST of the pics are with dear... I really really want to see them.. but he still need time to edit.. Sigh.. Probably I'll give him 2 weeks from the time he returns to SG.

Baby niece is so so responsive now. Always laugh and smile when we try to talk to her, or creating some sounds/noises. The surprising thing is, the person who makes the baby most responsive is her sister! I guess that's baby talk eh. So cute! Baby niece is afraid of tickle. Slight tickling at her back or on her tummy will make her smile! And she loves tummy rub~! She always pay special attention when ppl (either bro/mum/dad) handrubbing to create heat + the RuYi oil and placed it on her tummy! So fun!

Japan day 4 to day 9

Back to work. Had lots of photos but I think I really need some time to load for FB. Used 2 cameras during the trip.. hence my set of photos were actually incomplete. Dear is now on the plane to korea on biz trip again... so I'll only be seeing him next mon.... and i think to get the pics from him, that'll be weeks.

Anyway, let me go back and talk about Japan trip..

Day 4: Dear went to work from morning til late evening. I wanted to go to explore Nagoya on my own.. but then the places that I wished to go, were not opened due to public holiday. Sianz. So the only thing I could do was to do shopping in Takashimaya, then got back to the room after lunch to enjoy a long nap and rot til dear was back from office... and then dinner with his bosses in the hotel's restaurant.

Day 5: Kyoto. Joined the Johnnie Hillwalker walking tour (covering 3km in 5 hours: walk and stop). Johnnie is a very old man and he was our english speaking guide.. Probably because he is old, I found that the explaination of some of the things repetitive, and boring. heh. But anyway, really appreciate the tiring tour, coz he took us to higashi honganji temple, some shindos and temples (and graveyard), some of the backstreets of kyoto (and geisha area) and into those traditional shops making paper fans, pottery etc. At night, we went walking around the shopping area in kyoto station and then back to the hotel to rest our tired feet.

Day 6: Went to Kyoto Imperial palace in the morning and realised that we couldnt get in unless we joined the guided tour, which was at 2pm. We signed up for the tour and then instead of wasting time waiting, we went to Kinkakuji temple for sight seeing and then back to the palace. After the guided tour, we took shinkansen to osaka, checked in and then at night, we went to HEP five, thinking of taking the red ferris wheel... to our disppointment, the ferris wheel was under renovation.. sigh... so looking at the time, we decided to rush to umeda sky building, took the lift to 173m above ground to enjoy cold wind and night view of Osaka. That's when KK went down on his knees once again, presenting me with a real rock, on his birthday. =)

Day 7: Universal Studio - with the Elmo theme, hello kitty and snoopy etc. No mascots going around.. sianz. so the only thing we did was to take pictures of the theme park. The rides were ok, except for the dream ride roller coaster that I didnt want to take. We took one jurassic park ride that made me felt like I was going to die. Haha. I guess I'm really old, cant take this kind of excitement rides anymore. Did enjoy those 4D shows... except that everything was in japanese with no subtitles and everyone was speaking japanese as well. Not tourist friendly. At night, we went to Hard rock cafe and had our first western dinner. Nice~! As Halloween was around the corner, everywhere got this spooky halloween decorations (including the theme park).. MJ's thriller MTV was up too!

Day 8: As usual, we started our day by visiting Osaka castle.. and it rained. We hanged around for a while before going to Osaka station to look for Fancl shop... and then walked around to get those souveniors and food for my family and friends.... we got our hands full and hence got back to the hotel, put our things down and rested a bit before going Dotombori - a place that looked like a shopping cum food district (but ex!) and we settled our dinner with the snowcrab steamboat thingy. NICE~!!

Day 9: Home sweet home. =)

From level 33 of Marriott, Nagoya.

Hi guys, here I am~! I will be accessing the internet for these 2 days coz KK now is officially on biz trip... using internet is c.l.a.i.m.a.b.l.e.

My samsung phone is not 3G phone.. hence cant support the network here. So for those who wants to contact me, can do so through FB, or KK. hee. Anyway, while having some free time before KK meets his boss for dinner (while I'll settle my own dinner) let me write something down:

Day 1 in Nagoya: Reached Nagoya Airport at around 8.36am. Took a train to our hotel - Marriott Nagoya Associa. Trains and subways are very expensive.. and most of the $$ we spent were all on transport. However, thanks to the easy location of our hotel and extensive trains and subways here, we managed to find our ways to places that we marked on. =)

Once we checked into our rooms, we hit the bed straight away... Overnight flights were really energy draining~! Slept till around 3pm before we got up and went to Sakae - Oasis 21 to enjoy some cold cold air and nice sceneries~! We noticed that pple in Nagoya were all nicely dressed up~! No open toes, flip flops, jeans + t-shirt.. ladies wore mainly boots! So nice~!!! we felt so underdressed here. :( Plus, all pple - regardless of young or old, they all makeup!! The worst thing - they dun understand English at all!! It's a bit tough to ask for something... and to order something.. so the best language is body language. hehe.

Day 2: Nagoya castle and Osu Kannon Temple.
We went nagoya castle in the morning and hanged around there til the afternoon. It's magnificent! I dun really know how to describe.. but I'll load the pictures when I have the time to. =) We were also lucky that we managed to catch the festive celebrations at Osu Kannon Temple yesterday evening. Food food and more food! Yay!

Day 3: Atsuta Shrine
We went to the shrine this morning... and we were lucky once again.. there's festive celebrations! I think it's public holidays for the children here. Most of the parents who brought their kids to the shrine dressed up their kids in kimonos. So sweet and kawaii~~!!

Ok! Time for me to go... will be going to Takashimaya later, which is just located below my hotel. =)

Venues sourcing

Went to do some venues checking for my ROM today. We chose the wrong day - as 2 out of 4 places we went were not open on Sunday... =(

Let me go through one by one:

My first stop was Raffles hotel... under the bright sunny HOT sun... having solemnisation is not advisable.. for me. Haha. Yes, it's an outdoor venue - The Lawn. It's a nice place... with some kind of sheltered place for the ROM session and the rest of my guests have to stand/sit around the lawn area... which is a no-no! So hot! BIG minus point is that carpark fees for 30 plus mins cost us 6 BUCKS and the lift waiting time was especially SLOW.

Next we went to 1827 Thai Restaurant, somewhere near parliament house... its CLOSED. Sigh. We hanged around too see the surroundings and then someone came out from the restaurant... Lucky! We went to ask him for some pics for past ROMs and he showed it to us.. and even let us in to the restaurant to have a quick look at their settings. =) As he's not the person-in-charge, we left our contact details and he will ask his colleagues to contact us. =) Nice settings!

Then we went to Flutes at the fort, somewhere near registry of marriage... it's CLOSED too. Sigh. Nice house from the outside.. but the journey to walk there from the carpark was hectic. Steep steps and down slope... with foreign workers having picnic.. no no. It's off the list.

Last but not least, we went to The Jewel box. We decided to get into the restaurant to "enjoy" air-con, have some cold drinks as a self-reward for our tiring/sweating adventure today... We had sticky fries with mozzarella cheese dip, jewel something - ice cream and Mango manga. Nice~! Although it's not air con, the fresh air and constant cooling wind kept blewing.. So comfortable that we could literally fall asleep! haha. We asked for the contact to event person in charge.... and depending on the $$$, we will keep this shortlisted. =)

That's all for today... and will continue to source for venues after I'm back from the japan trip! Oyasumi nasai~!
