Office talk.

haha.. guess what, Joe just helped to change some of the damn slow pcs RAM from 512Mb to 1Gb. .. (I'm having one of those). Anyway, performance not optimal but at least it's faster~! ha. I also asked him to upgrade my firefox from version 1 to the current one. Yes~! Although the flash player remains outdated (a lot of FB applications cannot see) but still, it's way much better now~! haha. Thanks a lot~!

I really looked forward to my Phuket/Bangkok trip next week.. after working for like, 7 months in this sorta new job, it’s definitely a must to getaway. To enjoy and relax. Was mentioning at my facebook status – “routine lab work makes me feel stupid”.. I can’t imagine that my so-call “passion” for lab work has gone down tremendously. Haha.

Gone were the days in LNUS.. busy, political issues, backstabbing, badmouthing, gossiping, grievances… it’s all bad stuffs.. but I sorta enjoy and missing it. Wahaha. That’s usually the common topics at tea and lunch breaks. Despite those negative feelings from the upper management, I can still survive – with the co-encouragement from my dear colleagues last time. At least, that adds “colors” to the job, squeezing out brain juice to come up with plans, SOPs, and most importantly – tackling those upper management pple.. or rather, saving energy to gossip, to complain, and to eat snake.

Anyway, back to the main topic. I’m going to phuket - free and easy.. so anyone knows where’s a good place to go? I have absolutely no idea. Like makan places and shopping? Or somewhere the scenery’s soooo nice that I should not miss it? Please tell me by leaving a message somewhere, either here or in Facebook or sms me. Thanks a lot for the help. Hee~

Can you imagine I went to bed at 10.15pm, toss and turn for exactly 1 hour and couldnt sleep, hot and sweaty, I went to take a cold shower at 11.15pm, and went back to bed after that.
I'm so tired right now.

How I wish I'm with Dear in New Zealand right now. He was saying yesterday that it's only 10dC plus over there. Cold.

It's Friday~! Finally~! Will be catching a movie tonight.. Night at the museum. hee. Dear's leaving for new zealand at tmr evening. yes. again. He's always flying around.. so.. is it good or bad? Rest assure that up til now, I didnt complain to him that he's not having enough time with me. haha. At least he scheduled the flight to be back on next Thurs, so that he can send me to YT's wedding dinner on Friday and accompany me to Del's wedding on Sun. hee.

Just today.

A SBS bus broke now on a 2 lane road somewhere at a junction near my house. It usually takes about 1 min (by car) to go out of my carpark to reach the junction.. and today - it took approx 20 mins. See the big difference? haha

Of course, I'm late for work. Reached office and clocked in about 8.43am. First time. I cant stand the red word "LATE" reflected on my screen whenever i logged in to my ioffice. Sianz. haha. Lucky dear did a "damage control" by "speeding" with his powerful GTi.. muahaha. Exciting ride today as well. heh.

Anyway, it's a nothing-to-do tuesday.. so late is ok. wahaha. Continue to read a journal that Koby passed to me last week.. was diligently reading until he went on leave on friday and Sat.. so my brain went on leave as well. Today he's back (from Japan - why no home quarantine???), I have to switch on my working brain again..

The new scholl foot & nail cream that i bought seems to be working (i've been consistently applying the cream for 3 days) and my heels are definitely better now...

Meeting ex colleagues for lunch later on. =)

Weekend summary

Dear came back from India last Sat. I met up with Ying at JP2 before dear came to pick me up after his rest.

Ying and I went around JP2.. and I'm just like a tour guide introducing JP2 to her. haha. I dun frequent JP2 often... but that's Ying's first time there. hee~ We went walking around to find a hair clip to clip our fringes.. We saw nice but expensive ones at the first shop... hence we decided to walk around to see other choices.. In the end, we went back to the first shop. It's really quality that we were looking for. The crystals were brighter and designs were nicer.. in the end we got a total of 4 hairclips for a whooping ~80 dollars~! I never got such an expensive hairclips before.. but since I like it, I will treasure it. haha. Oh, we can return to the shop to get free replacements of crystals if our crystals happened to drop out due to wear and tear. thats good. heh.

Sunday - went to Far east plaza to get a dress for YT's wedding dinner. I have limited number of dresses.. so no harm buying lah. Time to be more feminine liao. hehee. I went into a shop - with only me as the customer, I tried on a lot of dresses.. in the end, I only got 1. A black dress, with the length just right. It's only 22 bucks~! cheap and nice. heh.

Forgot to mention, dear wanted to eat the famous ba chor mee at Crawford link before going to far east.. and he spent an hour queuing before getting the food.. and I spent an hour sitting down, waiting for food. Sigh. Dear said, due to the long waiting time.. no matter what, I must say that the ba chor mee is NICE~! hee.

We head back home early after getting the dress and using our Anderson 10 dollar vouchers for a couple vondue.... so that I can catch the last episode of the condor heroes. hehee. after that, watch the last bit of Monsters Inc on channel 5 and thats all for our day.

By the way, I created a facebook account for dear. hehe.

A nothing-to-do Tuesday.

Was asleep when dear called me yesterday. haha. Didnt expect his call and hence was fast asleep.. he will call again tonight. haha. Hope he will call me at the right time lo.. not when I am somewhere in dreamland. hee.

I think he wants to share his experience with me in INDIA lo. In the first place, the plane was full of indians... and at the point of touch down, he already sense the dust and smell.. Hope he is coping over there.. He mentioned that he has 4 internal flights to take within 5 days. Practically he's flying everyday. Plus the hot weather over there.. can die from heat stroke leh (40dC).

Later will be going out for lunch. heh. YT has only 5 bucks with her.. so going Holland drive to makan will definitely be much cheaper. Porridge + fruits < $5. haha. Want to lend her money but she just insists she doesnt want to borrow. hehe. Good. Got backbone. wahaha

Looking at the calendar, it will only be 3 weeks to my holiday in phuket and bangkok. Really looking forward to a break lo. hehee. It's been a year since I last went for a holiday.

2 weeks later will be Adel's and YT's wedding dinner.. which will definitely cost me a bomb. The month of May is really a high maintenance one.

Fish Spa

Went for a pre-celebration of mother's day today~! hee. Took mum to sentosa today for a fish spa package, including a foot reflexology and a shoulder massage. The fish spa is ticklish~!!! It gets better after a while. I guess KK's feet is really dirty lo.. a lot of fish swam over to his side~! hahaa. The foot reflex was average, and the head and shoulder massage felt good. Oh ya, took mum to the underwater world. Her first and the last time bah. I wont go there again. Expensive, small and CROWDED. It's flooded with - indians. Even at the dolphin lagoon, the place was literally flooded with indians. Who say singaporeans are kiasu? if you are there, you can see how they cut queue, how they bump pple etc etc. Irritating. Worst than those chinese from you-know-where.

Dinner was at Vivo, the nonya and baba restaurant. There food was good. Will visit them again to try the curry fish head. hee~

Review

Recently I bought an OPI cuticle avoplex cuticle oil on-the-go (with attached brush) at Far east shopping center. Being free and having nothing to do today, I went to do an online search. Guess what, it is cheaper to buy it online. Singapore site free shipment. Sigh. Felt being cheated. wahaha. Plus, the oil seems to become gel-like lo. Difficult to press out.. like kena stuck. Low grade item I must have gotten. (it's not like I dun use it for a long period of time.. i use every 2 days still can clot~! Ridiculous~!)

I am forgotten -讲讲就算了。

Talked to YT online just a moment ago. She forwarded an email to me sent to the molecular team by our supervisor. After reading it, I felt a bit demoralised. I felt just like an abandon kid. I was in LD unit and currently I'm in fusion unit. I was rotated to the current unit months ago. The 4 of us were supposed to be rotating between 2 units - thats the initial plan, with the supervisor in the loop. Now after reading the mail, seems like I am permanently in the fusion unit now.

It's not like I dislike the work.. I am fine being in whichever unit as long as ZX, YT and VH are with me. however, sometimes its like you are eating plain bread for sooo long and sometimes you just want to add some flavor to it. That's why the idea of rotation came in. I'm disappointed in my supervisor for the way he handle things..

Sigh. Anyway, it's just the sudden rush of emotions. I'll be a happy girl tmr. hehee. 讲讲就算了。

Tired but a Happy Monday

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling very uncomfortable. I was having a nightmare i guess.. Now my neck and shoulders are very very sore.. Sigh.. I need a massage...

Then I overslept 15 mins. Was not late for work coz i did my normal preparations in turbo speed and not draggy.. hee~ lucky my mum got up early today and woke me up. Hm.. this new handphone of mine has this alarm-clock-vibrations-too-soft issue.. i guess i have to increase the volume of the alarm, since i cant do anything to the vibrations. heh.

Took leave on wed.. and we will be getting our new car on Wed~! hee.. Driving the new car to catch a movie. cool~! Excited~!

Now waiting for the pc in the lab to be connected to LAN, so that we can process the results and proceed to the next cell culturing.. Stupid PC+network.

Done with stuff in the lab. Was joking and sharing the "those were the days" in the lab with the girls. so farnie lo... never knew that YT can be so wild. wahaha... laugh til i teared.

Did I mentioned that there's a pond with kois just right outside my office building? It's a nice place to laze around, and to take a break off work.. Getting a teh-peng from the foodcourt, or ice-cream from 7-11 or muffins from the bakin boys, sitting with my friends and chat/gossip a bit. hehee~



This is a pic of my desk. See the crampiness? No place for files, for my munchies my barang barang, no phone too. haha. it's actually only 80cm long. Worse then my study desk at home. It doesnt even have space underneath for a drawer to put my stuffs.. and my drawer is somewhere at the back of my office.. and yeah, i have to walk there, like how you put your bags in locker when you go clubbing or swimming. That's why I dont even bother to use that. My bag is always on the floor, kena stepped by myself lo. haha. It's only now that I use the bag hanger to hook it... Oh ya, forget to mention, the CPU is under my desk. Lagi worse. Takes up space too.. but 1 benefit, I use it as a foot stool lo. wahaha.



Ok, let's talk about yesterday. ha. Went to Nana's house after work for a shower and makeover session, to get ready for the partying at St James yesterday.

The main motive of Nana was to help me with my eyes... so I took a shower, put on light makeup, and she started her work.. I tried to take the pictures of before and after.. but then after loading the pics in my lappy, the pictures are very blurry.. so i decided not to put them up here. After all, the effect of putting on fake lashes are quite good. I'm just not used to heavy eyelids... hence i feel that my eyes are going to close anytime. haha. plus putting on contact lenses after a gap of so many years... i need time to get use. one thing for sure, removing eye makeup was a chore.

Overall at st james was enjoyable. watching how Allan lose to WX in the games.. haha. So silly. They left early around 12.. but they already drank a lot liao. EL stayed behind and then got so high lo.. SY and WX also maxed out liao. wahaha. Gim was like social butterfly, going tables to tables.. I think she either met her friends, or she's just high too. wahaha. Gim's sis+ husband+friends were there as well lo. what a crowded night.

Reached home about 3 plus.. slept around 3.40am. Tired.
