TaDaaa~~~~

I can officially announce that I found a new job~! hee. I sent out numerous resumes and in the end I only got rejected due to the 3 months notice period.. BUT luckily, I still manage to find one... Its been 5 years and a few months in LNUS... and since I graduated, I need to move on.. to some place that is more suitable for me. Not that I am exactly sure what is suitable.. but as long as I have my aims and motivation, I guess I'll be fine.

I'll be moving on to a research company in Biopolis in end of Oct (so friends who are working there, lets meet up for lunch~!)..not clinical research like what I am doing currently.. its those kind of immunology research.. Wet lab is always interesting to me.. seeing cells under microscope etc.. that's why I chose to study science ever since I was a kid. =) When I got this new job offer... i was struggling with the $$ or the interest... coz the next company I'm joining is not for a better pay.. (rather a paycut - and mind you, it's quite a lot!) and of course, the benefits cannot be compared to my current one.. but luckily.. interest is more important to me... hence despite all those negative influences.. i decided to go ahead and take up the job. After all.. my nxt "supervisor" has voice out to wait for my notice period (initially was 3 months) to end~! Wonderful~! Where can you find such a nice company? They also say that I am a suitable candidate and they are willing to put on hold the experiment til I start work~! Woot~! One more plus point... my "supervisor" is a young (cool) Jap guy~!

Heh. Anyway, went to Kal's bday celebration at SAF chalet.. A bit ulu lah.. difficult to find a parking lot.. hence we gotta park all the way back beside changi village hotel... plus, it was raining the whole day... I'm glad that Kal's able the start the fire anyway... with an umbrella. Felt so bad that we were just sitting around eating. haha~ Kal, being the bday girl, had to run around serving food to others.. Sorry ah~~ Coz too many pple liao.. we shy shy mah... We waited til the cake was cut.. but still didnt get to meet Nic.

Tmr will be another working week.. Since the day that I decided my path.... Everyday seems to be different.. It's a change... I'm going to make myself enjoying every moment.

Completed another PSP RPG yesterday. Tales of the world: Radiant Mythology. Nice~! Still have 2 more games to go.. but I guess not so fast.. since I'm starting to watch animes again. heh..

Spent my whole Sunday watching 26 episodes Tokyo Underground... Typical story plot.. but I just enjoyed watching =)

Need to return my regalia tmr... hope that the pictures were well taken.. Nic and Gin~! Where's the pictures~!

Hope I'll receive phonecalls for interview. I'm hunting now.

Congrats to myself~!

Yesterday was an enjoyable night. I was informed that I'm an prize winner when I went to get registered.... I'm surprised but not sure what prize I was getting...

Anyway, the presentation ceremony proceeded as we went up the stage with a small token of appreciation (leather cardholder with Uni logo) and shake hands with the chancellor... there's the bachelor of science, commerce and MBAs graduates.. and the ceremony was actually quite short due to the small number of graduates... (We are the first batch of graduated from B.Sc.) After all that, they gave prizes to the "winners".. and I think there were 5 given off... 3 from MBB, 1 from Genetics and 1 from pharm science... Only 1 girl and I were present for the prize... I'm so proud of myself. Got an "extra" certificate to indicate "best student in pharm science course" and $500 Aus dollars... So happy~! [My hardwork in studying pays off] Thanks mum for the chicken essence supplies every now and then.. thanks baby chan for all the goodluck kisses before all my exams.. thanks everyone that contributed every now and then.. wahaha

Took some pics.. but will wait for Nic's / Gin's to send to me.. collate then upload here... hm... after I uploaded the pics from my camera, i realised that my camera man yesterday didnt do really a good job. hahaa~ a LOT of blurry pictures.... but anyway, thanks for the effort. =)
I even got the chance to take picture with the nobel prize winner, Prof Barry marshall (holding his precious nobel prize medal..haa~~) and the head for our life science school... 1 of which will be in the uwa newsletter.. which i hope will be sent to us or uploaded in the uwa website...

Graduation

Tonight's the day. Haha~ Took half day and hence going off in an hour's time... Still need to iron the regalia, the new white shirt that I got and the pants i'm wearing later on... Mum said she'll help me with it provided that babychan sleeps in the afternoon.

Damn.. my right eye a bit swollen. later on still have to take picture lo... must be retribution la... coz i cursed someone yesterday... Argh~!

My health havent been feeling 100% lately... kept falling sick, getting (mild) flus and slight fever. Gosh.. i wonder if it is the virus that lingers around in my office... maybe someday gotta disinfect the whole place with 100% alcohol lo... My office is too too cold to work in.. like torturing... but it is this kind of environment that allows viruses and bacteria to live longer and thrive... Sigh... right now I'm wearing a normal sweater PLUS a winter fleece jacket over it.... it's a bit over.. but at least, I dont shiver.

My colleague told me that he/she's leaving... found a job. Sadz. another one leaving soon. Everytime I know about pple leaving, I'll think... when's my turn? haha~

Tuesday

I went to collect my regalia... it's emerald green for B.Sc. Normal B.Sc doesnt have the mortar board to wear... which means no "hat" to throw. hahaa~ the rafflestudio really knows how to do business lo..." lao gan" is the word I can use to describe them.

First they said that the rental for the gown is 30 bucks.. but you have to pay a deposit for 150 dollars just in case you did something to the gown la.. refundable deposit, that is.. then they tell you that no photographers will be allowed on the aisle and hence there's professional ppl will take your individual shot and the group photo for you, put in the a folder and sells you 90 bucks. Of course, if you agree to buy the photos, you dun have to pay the money, just subtract off from the deposit.. so now, I'm left with 60 bucks refundable deposit.

Then they bring you to the room to get the gown... I got a M size gown just because I'm too tall. Sianz. imagine wearing a big size gown with this thin thin body.. wahaha~ After settling the gown, the guy bring me to a small corner and explained the promotion package for family photo... so if I take the package for family photo, I'll get free individual shots. haha~ then the promotion price now is 280 bucks.. WAH~! Then the guy said he'll give me the option to take up or not... so he wrote a receipt to MINUS off the 60 bucks refundable deposit remainder and said that i have to make up my mind in 2 days.. If I choose to take up the photo package, I'll just have to keep the receipt and go back within a year to take the pics. if not, I'll have to return the receipt to them and they'll pay me back the deposit - 60 bucks.

So I ponder and think and I still cant make up my mind while even searching for the white long sleeve shirt around bugis... to find a shirt that catches my attention is really difficult... furthermore I'm talkin about white long sleeve shirt..sianz.

So I got home and told mum about the happenings... then she made a small comment that made me go.... "woo swee~! I should have think of that and dun have to think so much~!" Haha she said casually "dou mei you mao zi dai, hai pai shen me zhao!" (dun have a hat to wear take what photo!" Really is "yi yan jing xing meng zhong ren"... I decided not to take the family photo regardless of how much they persuade me.. coz there's definitely a day where I'll wear a graduation gown again.. of course, with a mortar board a.k.a hat. wahahaa~

Monday

Batam trip confirmed. More or less la. haven pay $$ only. With vi, gim and na on Oct. =) looking forward. hope that the spa is great~! Never been to one before.

This week's the audit week. So there isnt much activity going around.. just meetings, meetings and more meetings.

This evening I'm going to collect my regalia.. haven got that long sleeve white shirt to go along. Sigh~ tried looking for one yesterday.. but seems like a plain long sleeve white shirt is difficult to find nowadays. Found a pair of shoes that sis wore last year for her graduation.. i think the shoes doesnt really fit her.. so she left it at my house (wore it only once so it's still new).. and i dun have to buy one again. Just pray that the shoes doesnt give way la. hahaa~ Wednesday will be the "graduation" at NTUC centre.

Will be going to Kal's bday celebration at the changi chalet near the end of Aug. =)

Last but not least... I hope that my dear friend will get over her ex sooner.. I just cant bear to see her crying and sobbing whenever she thinks about him. Still remember long long time ago (secondary school times)... there's was once that I told her, "I cant really help/console/solve your problem... but at the very least, I'm able to cry with you." Jia you my dear friend. You can do it.

Happy birthday to you my dear friend... I've understand and know that you have been through a lot... Just want to say that although I'm not a friend that's always be with you when you are down, rest assure that you are still the number 1 friend I will think of whenever things happen (happy or sad) to me.... as you know, I'm the kind of passive sort.... so if there's really anything that I can do... accompany you... Give me a call and I'll always be there.

I really caught a cold.. came home from work just now and took mc. Still having sniffy nose despite the medication. hope tmr will be better.

Ah~~Choo!

I think that I had caught a cold. I've been sneezing a lot since I woke up.. Terrible.

Got 2 blisters on my soles. One on each foot. Sianz. Due to the walking I had yesterday with the wrong pair of shoes. Now I cant even walk properly. haha~ like a duck or something, avoiding walking in a position that will press on the blisters. Overall, i'm still glad that I walked home from work... of course, with Gim lah... guess that I always try out new things when I'm with her.. she always agree to do silly things with me. =)

Gim ah, she always plan to do a lot of things with me.... like going to hortpark to walk... going to Zoo and night safari etc.... I'm just like a big sister to her, bringing her to places that she always wanted to go.. or never go before. =) which is good somehow.. coz i longed to have a sibling that i can take care of.

Alright. movie tonight. Mummy 3.

Pre- Actual bday celebration

Ok, time for me to backdate a little.. birthday pre and actual celebration pictures. =)

There's post birthday celebration last saturday..but no pictures... and another one coming up.. with SC and some other colleagues. hahaa.. This is how i'm gonna mark my official mid-twenties. hee~

Starting off, the usual 4 girls (Ping, Me, Sen, Ting)... my friends pre-celebrate my bday with me on 26th Jul. We went marina sq and suntec. So sweet~!

Then I treat my family to a Pizza dinner for my birthday again on 27th Jul~!

We all went home for "cake cutting ceremony" after the dinner..but bro met his buddies and started chatting with buddies at the void deck... so we go ahead without him.. ya, as usual, dad was not around.

Nini came running to me as I was about the cut the cake.. hence I carried her and took a picture with her...look at her, she's aiming for the cake. Cute~!

Then on my actual day, Gim bought me a kawaii cake! The other CRTs got me a strawberry cheesecake too. =) Thanks guys.

And here come's the evening time, when kk brought me to dinner at absolutehaven at selegie... a mock candlelight dinner. haha

The starters... came the deep fried buffalo wings with a personal spicy rating of 4/5~! if you eat one you wont feel much.. but imagine eating more than that~! [got a burning as* the next day. haha~!]

The next starter is the puree mushroom soup for me. =) not bad.. a bit bland.. thats why when they served the soup, they brought the salt and pepper along.

My main course... chicken roulade... not that bad la.. small portion as you can see, but i still cant finish that, coz the starters already made me full..

As for him, he had the cod fish thing... with a small piece of soft shell crab.. and I prefer the fish to the chicken...

I ended my day with another cake cutting in the car with kk alone.. this year I cut 3 cakes in total =) hope all my wishes will come true~

Nini Chan bday

back from hiatus mode.

Yesterday was my big day. Haha~ officially mid-twenties. =) Receive lots of wishes and some gifts. Nice.. All all those usable kind of things, which is good~! However since I'm lagging behind on my entries, I shall start off with my niece 2nd birthday celebration! I'll post up the rest another day lah. haha
