Last day, last time.
Today was my last day at work. Walking towards Biopolis felt very different this morning. Upon reaching office, everything's pretty much the same except that there's a Mr Bean pearly soya milk from beloved ZX as breakfast, as well as a box of merci chocolates from Winnie as a form of appreciation for being her "mentor" for the past 10 days.
There was still work to do, just that it's very minimal. I did cell culturing for the last time in the morning and qPCR for the last time in the afternoon. Koby was very kind to give me the rest of the day free to take pictures with everyone else. We had one last small talk in the meeting room around 3.30pm, coz he said that he would be in a long meeting after that. I was surprised that he gave me a small token of appreciation.
When the clock struck 5.30pm, everyone started to leave. I went around to have the last handshake with the people in PLR. At around 5.40pm, only Chen-san and ZX were still in the office. I gave ZX a very big hug and a handshake before I left.. and I could see that she's trying to control her tears from starting.
I placed my work pass on HR's desk and exited PLR with a heavy heart. I will definitely miss this special place and the people who formed an important part of my life. You know who you are. ;p Love you!

My private affair
I had my farewell dinner with Dr M, Koby, Natori-san and ZX at a restaurant named nanjya monjya in Grand corpthone. It is a typical japanese teppan style restaurant full of japanese. The restaurant is run by 3 jap sisters and thus serves very authentic japanese food.
I am very happy and honored to have the private dinner with the bosses. I have the honor of being "served" by 3 men. They cooked the teppan dishes for ZX and I. We dun have to do anything, except to eat. Very nice food I must say. If I have the chance, I will return to the restaurant. :)
Also, as Takizawa-san will not be around on my last working day due to a biz trip to India, I caught him to take a picture with me yesterday. He only comes in once a week.. so I was lucky I had my camera with me (actually for the dinner that night). Before he left, he gave me a handshake and I was happy! Haha! He's like an idol to me. Beach boys style! haha. Anyway, I am not very satisfied with the only picture I took with him because his hair was a bit too long, he didnt have his spectacles on (which I preferred) and he wore his pants too high! haha.
Oh in addition, my farewell treat with the company organised by the recreation committe was initially a lunch at some restaurant in biopolis, but the kind, fatherly Dr M stepped in and told the guy responsible to change it to dinner and Dr M will be bringing us to a Japanese restaurant again. Yeah! I am really honored once again!
Last but not least, I am counting down to my last working day. 7 days exactly. Emotionally, I am still not able to let go this very nice working place... but my logical side tells me to move on and aim higher. Sigh.... One thing for sure........

Backdated post
I had my 28th bday celebration about a week ago. Time flies and I'm hitting the big 3 in 2 years time. I managed to get the pictures off the camera and here I am, with a backdated post.
I bought an ice cream cake with winnie the pooh picture from swenson.. because I was celebrating with all my cute nieces and they love cartoon cake. It was funny when we asked for the number of candles to be 28 and probably the waitress was thinking.. so childish! We had the cake for tea break and all my nieces enjoyed the cake. Which kid doesn't like ice-cream? Even adults love ice-cream!
In the evening, dear and I went to a restaurant in resort world, the one that we went for our wedding anniversary in feb. Again, the food was really nice and we enjoyed ourselves. Foe grias, lobster, alantic cod, duck breast and hot chocolate soup were what we had. Thinking of those makes me extremely hungry! Here're the pictures!

Dull moments
I wanted to blog about my bday celebrations and the countdown of the number of days left in my current company. However, I need the pictures to be loaded first before I can have a more interesting post. My bday pics were all in dear's DSLR and right now he is on biz trip and thus I am staying over at my mum's place. So bear with me for a while before an interesting post comes up!
