Hm... coincidentally, today there's 3 colleagues commenting that I am very skinny, and asked me to eat more and stop losing weight. They also mentioned that I don't look that well after I came back from that 1 week sickness. Hm... am I? I asked if it's because of the clothes that I wear.. but they said it's not.

I think I am healthy... just that I am tired today. Not exactly sure why.

To make it worst, Koby asked me to do PCR cloning today, running here and there... ending up having a failed experiment. Sadz. Demoralising. He asked me to go internet and check about the average cDNA concentration to be used... which i did, and got a rough idea. So what's next? Repeat the experiment.

Dear had boarded the plane to UK, on the way to his head office in Birmingham to work, after that he’ll be going to Taiwan for biz trip. Dear’s been busy with reports and plans for more frequent flying.. and thus, I have to take over the tasks of going down to our new house every 2 days to check.

Work has been busy for me as well. Actually it is the presentation that is draining me. I simply cant finish it with such a short notice, and with Koby not around assigning work for us.. Especially on Thurs and Fri when my partner went on leave… Now that the week is over, I guess it will be better next.

Will be meeting sis later on.. she mentioned that there is a makeup class that she had registered and asked me to go along with her, totally FOC. Hope that it wont be a place where there’s hidden agenda! Haha

Photoshoot - 16 Apr

Just a day before my photoshoot, I went for my gown fitting (to confirm the altered size fit me) as well as my trial makeup... dear went off after trying his pants and suit.. coz he had a teleconference to attend.. Anyway, my makeup artist took her time to help me with the makeup, and after that my coordinator helped me to try the gowns, as well as taking this pic =)

Then came the actual photoshoot day.. it's VERY, EXTREMELY, tiring! The fake double eyelids, the double fake lashes and the contact lenses.. they made it even worse! I'm so not used to external items sticking on to my eyes.. Couldnt really open them! But of coz, I appeared to be pretty after that. hee. Anyway, dear took these photos of me... and I only took 2 pics of him. during his makeup... Actually, there's really nothing special for men! haha!

Renovation works

We started our hacking on 13th April. Dear kept popping by our house to see the progress, almost everyday. He's excited, and so am I. :)

This was the pile of sand welcoming us when we first stepped into the house. Somehow, those sand and wet cement (plus a little sewage smell) filled the air when we stepped in too.

From another angle, we could see the cement (right) and our chosen tiles (left) piled up nicely and neatly in the living room. By the way, it's the worker in the pic, not dear. haha

Walking into out master bedrom toilet, everything had been removed, leaving only bare walls.

We went up again in the night time.. and we saw one of the walls had tiles already!! Very nice~!

The next day, dear went to see the house again, and he told me that all the walls in the kitchen had been done up, and they started on the common toilet already. That's fast! So excited to see the end product! Our ID called us and said that the house will be ready on 1st of Jun. :)

Lil Yiting

Ever since her hatch day, I didnt mention about Lil yiting much. Time flies and she's eight months old already! She really likes to take pictures! Here's some :

Tiles chosen! Laminate next!

We went to choose the tiles for our kitchen and 2 bathrooms this morning. Poor dear didnt have the time to rest. He got off the plane around 8 plus, after that he got to rush to fetch me and then go balestier to meet our ID at 10am. Of course, we were late. hehee. It was raining cats and dogs too.

We didnt take a long time to choose the tiles.. maybe because there's a lot that we both dun like. haha. We took about slightly more than an hour. After that we came back to clementi to have lunch, and dear took a nap while I stayed in the living room to accompany my grandma who came to visit us. =)

Around in the late afternoon, we went out again..... to collect our keys! But the excite-ness was quickly dampen by..... our car just couldnt get started!!! We flipped through the manual to see what could be the possible cause... and found that the main problem could be, flat battery!! Hmph! No warning signs at all. It was all fine in the morning til then. Sigh. We quickly went out to flag a taxi... and on we go...

Finally! It's a week earlier and we were glad! renovation hacking permit already applied, and hence we will start our hacking job next week.. so about 5-6 weeks from now, we will have our nest done! We stayed back for a while in the house after the handing over of keys, taking note of the existing power sockets location, admiring the empty house and taking pictures before renovation! A neighbour came by and talked to us for a while, checking us out. haha. She mentioned that she and the other neighbours were afraid the flat was sold to Indians or Malays or foreign workers... and when she saw us, she's relieved!! She even asked whether if we will rent out our house.. haha.. anyway, I can see that she's a nice lady.

Alrighty, tmr we will head down to our ID office, to choose our cupboard's laminate :) in addition, I have to bring my phone for servicing. The problem has been there since I bought the phone... just that i waited and it reached the max tolerated level. The hex key is not responding well now. sigh.

MC again

I'm on MC again. The viral infection has invaded my lymph node causing it to swell. I couldnt sleep well due to it. Swallowing saliva is tough.. even talking. Whenever I try to swallow, there's always a sharp pain that follows, all the way to my left ear. I want to recover soon, as my photoshoot is just next week.

Terribly sick

Feeling very sick these two days. Yes, I'm on mc. Viral infection and low blood pressure- fever, cough, body ache, runny nose... I have it all. No strength to even go online. I kept sleeping and lying on bed..coz whenever I sit up, my head felt heavy. This sickness also made my balancing affected - that's why I feel giddy most of the time.

Tmr gotta work. Hope after tonight's sleep will make me feel better.

Deposited

These few weeks have been mentally exhausting. Both personal and work.

Personal side:

We have been looking around for quotes, going through forums on Interior designing. Bargaining on the quotation prices. Going to Hoe Kee and shops estimating the prices of those necessities, looking through magazines and stuff for furniture and ideas. Blah blah blah... Everything cramped into these 2 weeks.

Maybe a bit rush, since dear is flying off for a week on Sunday and we will be getting our keys in 1 or 2 weeks time.. and then dear's current rental flat contract is ending too.. time is an important factor for him, coz he needs to get the house done up and ready for him to move in, so that he dun have to risk sleeping with his stuff at void deck. haha. 1 more thing to worry about is the $$. But it is more or less settled, since we have decided to sell off this car. A bit reluctant, but then having no car is just temporary =)

Work:

Koby has been giving us a LOT of work to do.. No breaks in between except lunch. Tend to lose concentration when we have to work for hours straight, esp after lunch. I wonder if it's just me feeling totally exhausted. I think personal stuff is quite a load (mentally) already. I told Koby that I am exhausted today, and he just smiled back. -_-"

I can say that I usually give 100% at work... to the extend that today, immediately after I knocked off and sat into dear's car, I'm totally drained.. I couldnt register anything that dear mentioned to me, especially today is the crucial day when we need to decide on which ID to get. I got home and rest for a bit - I had the urge to shout and scream and vent out everything inside me... but I managed to cool down a bit, drank a bottle of essence and went out to pay the deposit for the ID.

Dear told me not to give 100% at work.. I always need to retain some energy for after work life. I know it's not healthy.. but once I dedicate myself to work, I can just go on non-stop.. what makes it worse, I got to work TMR. Sigh.

To summarise, I guessed next week will be better, coz we had paid the deposit for the ID and dear will not be around.. so my mind will take a rest not to think about house issues.
