"Lonely" day

There're a few new stuff going around me.. to the extend that I'm lazy to blog about it (besides those gifts that I mentioned in the previous post). Heh. First, dear got his Nikon D5000 DSLR from US! He had a "fun" time taking pictures of cosplayers and figurines when we went to the AFA09 last Sunday.. Some cosplayers really went "all out" and the character from the anime seemed to come alive! So cool! Pictures were posted on FB yesterday.. so you guys may want to take a look. heh.

Also, dear had finally got rid of his HTC touch Pro and changed to blackberry bold. He's been waiting loooong for this! Imagine he spent some time to call up ALL starhub and its distributors to ask if there's any stock available! For me, I renewed my M1 contract and got W508 - flip phone for free~! Yippee! I love flip phones =) haha. This is the first time I use SE phone. Had some difficulties navigating around. Need more time to adjust!

Oh, by the way, I was selected (or somehow volunteered) to be in the recreational committee for next year! Haha. VH and SP are together with me... and as expected, a Jap is nominated to be our Chairman... sigh.. but its ok! Just sign and approve whatever cost that we made~! hee.

Today's lonely... Koby and ZX went to Europe (separately)... VH went to church camp, leaving SY and me in the lab.. or rather, in the office. heh. She got nothing much to do, but i do have some protein purification stuff and lysate thingy to do.. on and off during the waiting time, will be my free time - like now. haha!

My gifts from Dear's US trip.

Dear got this for me when he was transiting in Tokyo. Micropets~! Hee. We saw this in our last Japan trip, but the model I wanted was sold out. So he got it for me when he saw this again.. It a "robot dog" that will response to your finger tapping on the table to sing, walk and dance! Cute~!

Then I asked dear to get a coach wristlet for me... to use it when I'm going to a short jalan jalan. =)

I need a new pair of sneakers (my converse is getting old and "lose" coz I got a wrong size the other time). Tadaa~~~ coach sneakers~! hee. The size is just nice, light and comfy. I like it~! Thanks dear for bringing all the way back for me~!

Will be meeting up my friends to go see see my ROM dress.. and then evening time I will have to go to the airport to help him lull all his luggage back home. =)

Hardworking.... working hard.. haha!

Work is hectic this week. Boss saw us working through lunch hour and decided to give us a pizza treat for the whole company! So nice~! At the end of the day, he also announced that we could actually leave earlier at 5pm if we had our work done.. But! no one left coz somehow, it felt strange.. ZX still had western blotting to continue.. and for some of the girls, we just continue to discuss our proposal for next year Recreation Committee budget.. to be submitted to the board next Thurs.. and that HR wants us to produce preferrably on MONDAY. Anyway, just copied and pasted last year's proposal, added in $$$ and estimated # of pax.. and DONE~!

I'm looking forward to dear coming back this weekend. Awaiting my Coach wristlet and Coach sneakers. Haha.. yeah! "Branded" shoes~! wahaha~! I got some discussion with dear to do as well. hehee~~

Strange encounter

I was at Tampines area yesterday... loitering, so as to waste some time before going Eunos to meet my ex-colleagues at 5.30pm. Being thirsty and tired I bought a bottle of mineral water from cold storage and sat outside to rest my tired feet.. Around 4pm, a lady came up to me and sat beside me, saying that she's reaching 60 and was very tired after walking around, getting avocados and some vegetables... I smiled at her.. and she continued her conversation, talking about love, life and money. She told me about her family background, in a mixture of english and cantonese. She talked about her stocks and donations, the number of condos and platinum cards she’s holding, the picture of her god (guanyin) and pictures of her dead mum that she carried in her wallet, and she named her maid as beneficiary if she passed away next time. I dun think she’s bluffing me about her being rich…. Coz while she opened her wallet, there was a stack of 50 dollars.. a STACK. She also told me about her 2nd hand rolex… how greedy her step-sister – getting 8 million from her dad and said it’s not enough.. how her sister pitied her for being single…but instead she pitied her sis for getting married coz her husband is having affair outside. Blah blah blah.

She told me about a lot of things.. but its too lengthy to carry on writing. I bide her farewell and thank her after an hour of chat, coz she somehow helped me to pass my time…. I shook her hand and went off. When I turned my head and look back, she was not there anymore.

Is she feeling lonely deep down inside?

Is it worth to go through all that trouble? Yes. But its tough walking through this... it's not as simple as ABC for our case.

Preparations

We bought our wedding bands from Love and Co yesterday, after comparing prices between Lee Hwa and Soo Kee. Although Love and Co wasnt the cheapest one, but it's definitely the one that we both like, and decided. [The wedding bands are slightly over our budget, and I use to think they can be bought at a cheaper price!] Anyway, we can only collect our rings on early Jan, coz they need to custom make. =)

Somehow, we've already decided on the venue too. The Jewel Box. Just need to contact the wedding event organiser for the details.

Now we have to do is to find a solemniser, get his/her consent form first, before submitting the date online.

Concurrently, we need to find a photographer for the ROM as well.

As for me, I have to start to go around hunting for the ROM dress. So many things to do!

And Dear is flying off on TUESDAY and i wont be seeing him TIL 22 Nov. See how much are we going to accomplish....

Yo, I'm back here once again. (Long post~!)

SATURDAY:
Went to orchard to visit Ion (yes, I didnt step into orchard for like, mths.) and then caught a movie at Cineleisure. So first, we went cine to get our tickets and then walked all the way to Ion... I told dear that it's going to rain soon and he said "nah. It won't." So, when we got bored of the ion (we didnt even went above level 2) and wanted to move on.. we stepped out and there's a thunderstorm going on~! Then we had to get down to the MRT station to link up to wistma, and then Taka. That was the furthest we could go under shelter.... and the underpass was CRAMP like sardine~! We walked around and had our dinner at Taka... and also went up to the civic plaza to see those poor guys at the subaru asia challenge! After the rain, there was still quite a number of ppl standing tall~! Hm.. I wonder what's the result for this time...

Then, seeing the rain got smaller, we decided to dash to Cineleisure... we hung around til the time to go into the cinema, and we were supposed to watch My sister's keeper.. yes, a second time for me, coz i think it's worth watching again... but never did we know that when we got into the cinema, the show started by saying "chapter one.... blah blah blah.." EH?? My sister's keeper starting was not like that.. we felt strange and thought we were in the wrong theatre.. dear got out and looked around, and indeed it's Hall 2. I quickly dig out the tics and it stated Hall 2, LOve. Gosh. The sales person give us the wrong tickets!!! So we had no choice but to continue with watching... Love Happens. Haha. That taught us a lesson to check the tickets before we leave the counter.

SUNDAY:
Brought Yixin to IMM with mum, since she had recover from her fever... She was well behaved too, getting up without crying, so we brought her out to a treat, to buy some dresses and vcd for her.

We walked around IMM and then went into giant, kids section . Yixin was not a greedy girl.. after she chose a dress, she didnt want the others.... we didnt want her to come all the way here to buy only 1 piece, so we ignore her and continue to try dresses on her.. until she went off and chose another piece on her own. =) hee. So in the end, we got 2..

we were a bit tired and went to Macdonalds to collect those instant win stubs we had. 2 apple pies and 1 small fries.. and we shared a drink. Then we walked to a vcd shop to see if there's Aladdin DVD or VCD... but they dun carry it... However, yixin managed to find one princess vcd with jasmine and aladdin - those kind of tv version... so we got that for her.. (if not, she wouldnt want to leave the shop!)

Finally, we went upstairs to the open playground... Yixin kept saying she wanted to go and play with the water.. I removed her shoes and brought her near the area.. but i told her she could only play the water that wont make her very wet...So she stood there and waited for the water.. never did we know that when the water started squirting out, a lot of malay children ran over and played with the water! Yixin got splashed a bit and she said " 姑姑 他们喷我！Stop!". Haha~! I thought she wanted to play with the water..

Anyway, I carried her back to wear the shoes.. and she went ahead and played with the slides and merry-go-round. she chose not to play on those slides that were made wet by those kids with wet clothes... so she kept switching between the green slide, and the merry-go-round. heh. She didnt want to go home after that.. I had to tell her it's time to go and we'll watch the princess vcd with her... and treat her popcorn.. then she gave in..

So we reached home, ate popcorn, watched the vcd once, had dinner and then watch the vcd again.. Thats when the tired Yixin fell asleep in my arms around 9.30pm. =) (but she got up at 2am and went back to sleep at 5am.. according to my mum) haha~!
