My Sunday

Went to dear's gathering today. We had steamboat for lunch and spent quite an amount of time talking about marriage, wedding, houses and making jokes in between. I guess we all reached a stage (in other words, getting old) that gathering at each others houses are quite enjoyable too. =)

Slacking

Today's a good day for shopping.

But I'm totally lazy to go outdoors.

Slack and slack is what I've always enjoyed.

Heh.

5.59am

Who would have known that the first time that I hugged my Dad so tightly, would be the time that I'm trying to stop them from fighting, from hurting each other.

It was 5.59am in the morning.

I was no longer the one to stand there and cry, hoping for them to stop. I went in with mum to pull both of them apart.

I saw the stubbornness in bro, the distress look in mum's eyes and the frustrated father. My heart was pounding. Real hard. It lasted for a while til the commotion is over.

I went back to the room, listening to my own heartbeat.. it was when calmness took over, tears rolled down. I controlled it. Thoughts went though my mind, on and on..

I could have been angry - with the kid that caused all this. Since she's born, she's been causing some big and small fights and quarrels between my dad and my brother. But I can't have this kind of thought/feeling. Coz afterall, she's just a child who doesnt know anything. I love her as well. Most imptly, we are one family.

Happy Birthday Dad!

It's Dad's Birthday today. I left him a 50 bucks note before I got out of the house this morning. Since Dad doesnt have the habit of celebrating birthdays, $ is all he need. =)

Went out on Sunday to JP, intending to get myself some new clothes for CNY. I really hate it when most of the shops are playing CNY songs. Argh.. PLUS most of the shops were selling red tops and dresses now. It's quite a turn off for me. With much disappointment, we went to catch the movie : Hachiko at Iluma. It's really a nice movie (though low budget). A true story about a loyal dog who sent and fetched his master (Richard Gere cast) to and fro train station everyday, even as the master passed away and it was still waiting for him - until itself passed on too. SAD. I wont want to have a dog next time already. I really cant bear to see the dog leaving before I do. Sob sob.

Anyway, in the end, after the movie, I managed to get myself a top =) at bugis junction. that will be my one and only new top for this CNY. haha. =)

First disappointment of the year.

I so so disappointed with The Jewel Box (Mount Faber) yesterday til I couldnt get to sleep.

The original plan was to provide significant Jewel Boxes as wedding favors for my guests at our ROM ceremony... and yet when we called her and asked her about something else, she took the opportunity to break the bad news to us - " We will not be providing Jewel Boxes as wedding favors anymore, due to the items were handmade and a lot of them got damage during transportation. So the vendor decide to stop producing, to reduce cost."

DAMN. That made me soooooooo disappointed that I spent the whole night finding substitutes but to no avail. SIANZ. Hence to prevent myself from getting more disappointed, I stopped searching. I'm really affected emotionally, coz we increased our agreed price just to have those wedding favors included. I dun want any other options like magnets and teddy bears!

Sec School gathering

I left around 6pm from office and yet I reached west coast plaza around 6.30pm. I was the earliest. I walked around and finally got to starbucks, sat there and started playing games with my itouch.. about 10 mins to 7pm, our agreed timing for the gathering, no one was there yet.. Then far away I saw HuiQi =) Yes! one who was punctual!

We went new york new york to get seats for 10 pax... pple started arriving from 7.15 onwards. Although there was a long waiting time before everyone arrived, I had fun talking to HuiQi and the rest of the girls.=)

So the peeps who turned up were : HuiQi, Huisen, Huishan (me), Qiaoling, Charlie, Wei Tat, Saukit, Wen Han, Shirley, Guocai and Yingru (she just dropped by.) We update about each other's work life... and about our statuses - Single, married and engaged - THANKS to charlie who did the "interview". We also talked about those pple who didnt turn up, and those that arent contactable. Talking about those days when we did silly things, those teachers and gossips, it's indeed fun. Everyone looks just about the same as 10 years ago, of course, better looking now. haha

After that the guys took a short walk to west coast park, since charlie and some others haven been there since ages.. and the girls hitched a ride from Guocai. =) We went to the jetty area, hang around and continued talking until Saukit's leaving for another round of gathering with his friends.

Since Guocai is staying at clementi, I got a ride home from him. =) Thanks! Its really nice to see you guys after such a long time! I hope there's more sessions to come!

Oh ya, they were mentioning about having another gathering next friday on Saukit's bday.. but I guess I wont be turning up for that since I have another gathering with my unimates!

*poof* money gone.

I can't believe that so much money will be pumped into wedding dinner. I shudder at the thought where my savings will go down to zero, even a negative value. Gosh.. dun be surprised that I will have to have minimal food for lunch. Am I exaggerating? No I'm not. Dun forget I still have my house renovation in just 3 months time? *poof* money gone. Argh!

Dear read this post and said that I shouldnt blog like that. Haha. Coz afterall its our choice. So I should eat and live normally, without having to scrimp and save those little cents and dollars on food. Probably just dun spend on certain things like... new camera? new laptop or new handphone. haha.

Imagine that

Having a break now and reading the yahoo news:

The all-in-one remote by Samsung is SO COOL! Let’s see how ex it is when it’s released. I will want one in my future home. Hehe. For those who didnt read the news, Samsung is working on those remote controllers that looks like an iphone.. so when nature calls or hungry pangs strikes, you can just carry the remote controller that's with an inbuilt screen to anywhere of the house! Plus you can watch 2 different channels too (1 on the tv and 1 on the remote)! How cool is that?

Oh ya, I also read something about pico projectors as probably the next big thing. Haha. Imagine you can project video or presentation out from your mobile phone? SO COOL right? Haha. Inventors are great.

Keep inventing!

A visit to my cousin's house

Ok, this afternoon after I got off from meeting my friends for brunch, I went straight to my cousin's house to attend his baby's full month celebration, where in actual fact, I want to go and see how's their interior designing, since it got featured once in the chinese newspaper. So here's the compilation of some parts of his house..

I purposely made the picture small.. coz I used my lousy VGA camera phone to take the pictures and the quality is real bad. Overall the house I give it 7/10.

Since I mentioned that it's actually a full month celebration, I should take a picture of the cute lil' princess too eh? So this:

An upside down photo of baby Clair and I tried umpteen times to make it normal.. but it just became like this when it's being uploaded.

Last but not least, before leaving the house, my 2 cute nieces decided to pose and let me take a picture of them. heh. so cute!

It's time of the month

Not feeling that good today too (apart from the stomach ache and puking from coffee overdose yesterday). It's time of the month again. Sigh. PAINFUL to the MAX lo. Lucky it came today.. I gotta rest at home. I can't imagine if i'm at work now..

Sorry dear for missing 2 gatherings of yours consecutively for 2 days. I really want to join you at Pan Pac.. but then.. sigh... menses spoil the day.

So far, ROM preparations are going smoothly. Most of the things are done.
  • Solemniser - checked
  • Photographer - checked
  • Helper(s) - still have to follow up
  • Guest List - checked
  • Dear's attire - in the midst
The next thing that we need to do concurrently is to search for hotel packages (we need to go to visit those that we selected). Once this is fixed, I need to call up my bridal studio to tell them about the date, and then they will give us a timeline on when to start (coz Louis from Z wedding called me just now to ask me about my wedding date... )

Hope I'm better tmr. Got to meet my colleagues in the morning and then visit my cousin's baby first month celebration!

Tuesday

Been experiencing pain (sometimes sharp pain) in my right knee every now and then for these few days.. I can't stand for long, and I cant really squat down fast, like I used to. I wonder if I'm getting early arthritis? Or those old pple illness. Sigh. Maybe I need to take glucosamine...

Anyway, one of my classmate back in Sec school posted our class photo up on FB.. the picture has welcomed 165 comments and counting! Guess everyone is getting "old".. so all of them has a huge response to it... bittersweet memories.... some got married, some become parents, some are still single and most of them, attached. Everyone has gone through their own lives, with minimal contact - until the particular one ignite a spark and call for a gathering. I really hope tat most of us, can turn up for the gathering. For I had RSVPed. heh.

Its the new year.. and a lot of things still need to be done. those last bits of preparation for ROM in end of Feb.. Need to list down to-do list fast, to remind me, and to remind him.

Our Wedding Package (long post!)

Dear and I went to the wedding fair at Suntec today. Before we went, we said that we will be treating this as a comparison to Penang's bridal package, and we wont be signing anything. First we walked around all the ~19 booths, ALL of them were like playing prey and predator games, jumping straight in front of us and started pulling us close to them to talk about their packages. We walked passed all and finally got out to buy our tickets to Sherlock Holmes.

We went back to the wedding fair, wondering which one should we start first, and aimed to "complete" our comparison tasks by comparing at least half the number of booths there.. So we started on the one that I took an interest with... and that was when we put both our feet into the grave....

They started by showing us lots and lots of albums on their photography skills and gowns.. then came the discussion of the package part, where they auto-slash their prices for us, throwing us a lot of FOCs (that are quite standard).. but the most impt thing is the number of poses and pages of albums they are giving us... In the end, they sorta force-sell to us and we had to make a decision on the spot. I called my sis and ZX for help, asking about their packages they took last time.. and dear called his buddy to inquire as well.. in the end, all price were about the same.. and the only thing left was the decision to sign or not to sign. We seriously wanted to leave for another to compare.. but the sales person used up ALL her persuasive powers to psycho us.. she left us and gave some time for us alone to talk about and dear did some breakdown...

Most important if we are signing the package, I need to LIKE their gowns, which I did. I didnt gave much comments, leaving dear to decide. The only comment I think I said was the package given to us was quite standard, and I like their gowns. So I think somehow, somewhere, dear knew that there's not much difference in getting the package over here and Penang, probably just a few hundreds bucks difference... so we signed. Tadahh~~~ $$$ gone. Without comparision. Just from 1 shop. That's it.

It's worrying coz after we signed and left the booth, sis called and mentioned there were some bad comments about the bridal studio from the forum.. but too late. we SIGNED. that left our hearts hanging while we were watching the movie. We were afraid to have made a wrong decision. A haste decision.

Anyway, my consolation was probably, or definitely saving a lot of time and convenience about the leaves I need to take and the traveling fees (although dear still doesnt think so). Anyway, I feel much better, seriously, taking the package from singapore... although i tried to put it behind my mind when I agreed to give Penang a chance when we initially discussed about pre-wedding shoots. It's funny, in the end, I have the package from local. I wonder if dear regretted suggesting to go for the wedding show, coz I didnt know about it until he told me. hee.

Oh, I forgot to mention, my package was from Z wedding, with Chris Ling photography. I got a free photo album (that the sales person said it costs $800) upon signing. That's all I think.
