An oath

Went for the statutory declaration this morning. Reciting the oath together and raising our right hands in public, i felt a little strange. Anyway, it's a quick one, and everyone was doing the same thing =) after that we were approached by a hdb staff and were asked to do a short survey. we were then entitled to a lucky draw on borsch home products - hope we can win something for our house =)

Next, Crawford centre for the famous ba chor mee. I guess this was the first time I had a bowl myself... Coz I have always avoided pork. Anyway, the noodles with the vinegar and sauce.... Yummy!

After our brunch, we came back to clementi, and I went for eyebrow threading. Now nice and tidy, all ready for this sunday! Forget to mention, I put on contact lenses today. Very strange leh.. I'm totally not use to not having my specs! Removing lenses are tough too! I had a hard time and my eyes were in pain! Couldn't seem to get it out coz of my long fingernails... Now everything more or less settled... Dear's working now while I blogged... =)

Special gift

Dear came back today and gave me a surprise by coming to fetch me off work. =) I thought he will only be returning tmr. hee. Anyway, he brought back new year home made goodies by his mum to us and 2 ang baos for me (1 from his parents, and 1 from his grandma). Thank you!

On the 2nd day of CNY, we went to visit mum's relatives.. Had a fun time chatting, lo hei, gambling (not me), playing with kids.

On the 3rd day - which is today, we went to visit Dad's relatives. Nothing interesting to mention...

That's basically the end of my CNY holidays...

My first day of new year

I spent my new year and valentine's day with mum.

First we went to Guanyin Temple, then we ate Macdonald's Chocolate burst icecream.

Next we dropped by Bugis and went Watsons (since it's one of the few shops that was opened). Mum got a lipstick, and I got myself a nail polish. Haha. It's literally finding something to waste money on. Right now, mum and I got the same nail color. hehee. I applied (lousily) on mum's fingers and toes.. and my toes as well. Totally gave up when it comes to my own fingers. It's TOUGH, and I got no talent in this.

Then we walked into Sookee to look at diamond earrings. Mum once told me she wanted to get a pair.. so, having nothing to do, we walked in, took a liking to a pair, tried on, and paid for it. Really, new year makes people have the urge to spend more money. Haha.

Dinner was at Siam kitchen, and then we took the train back home. I felt like I was in India or Phillipines... The smell of curry and spices + body odour, the loud noises from ah-nehs chatting and for god's sake - playing loud videos... and Filipinos chatting loudly over the phone. OMG. We were surrounded by foreigners. I nearly couldnt take it. That's the longest train trip ever.

Just had my packed lunch, sipping my teh, listening to Ayumi hamasaki on my itouch..

Working alone in the office or in the lab.. not bad. I enjoy the peacefulness once in a while. =)

Macdonald ice cream

That day we went Macdonalds, we ordered 2 chocolate burst ice-cream... see the difference in size? No standard. Haha. but dear was really happy to receive an UPSIZED icecream (on the left). heh.

CNY goodies

It's fun grabbing those snacks and tidbits off the shelves at Sheng siong supermarket. Haha. Best thing is, I didnt fork out a single cent. Thanks dear. haha!

I had 3 toilet breaks today.

No water.

Done those work that Koby scheduled. He expected me to leave some for the afternoon (coz ZX is on MC today) and asked me what else I need to do during the afternoon, I proudly say "All done". He was surprised. haha. Then he continued to ask me to do other things... which again lasted me the whole afternoon til 5 plus. Tiring, but fulfilling. The SAD part is, I'm going to be the presenter for the next journal presentation!!! Argh~!!!

Anyway, knocked off exactly at 5.30pm, walked in the fastest speed that my legs could carry.. coz I dun want my mum to wait for me for too long at the MRT station. I told her 10 mins. I kept to the time limit, and my mum was surprised too.. coz I pointed to her where's my building and she said "quite far leh. 10 mins is fast!" =) I like praises. Shower me with it.

We got to Marina, had our dinner and off we went to the free sneak preview of 14 blades. Typical chinese war-type show, but it's nice. I enjoyed it. =)

In conclusion, there's no monday blues for me. =) Sweet tuesday waiting for me?
