Part 1.

I was late yesterday for my first day of work. 5 mins la. Not serious. The train in the morning are da*n cramp lo.. I think I really need to learn the art of squeezing.. I dun mind being squashed up right in front of the door.. coz afterall I only have 2 stops Dover - which the door opens at the other side.. and then buona vista... and it's my stop. haha~

Long post this gonna be.. so be prepared.

Current company have ioffice - an application to monitor work online... plus, a place where you need to clock in and out when you step into the office and leave home at the end of the day. Very typical jap company. Time orientated. Near to Zero pple come in later than 8.30am.. Very discipline.. nobody leaves before 5.30pm.. not even on the dot.. I have to get used to this new culture. Afterall I come from a US culture company..

I have my own desk. A 1metre square table. Small indeed.. but at least i have room for my legs.. Chair.. is normal rolling chair, velvet material.. and the backing like giving way anytime soon. haha~ not like my comfy ex-leather big armchair... I have to throw away my cushion that i brought back from my ex company liao.. forget about bringing it to my new place. We have an open concept office.. all staff in a room.. everybody whispers and talk softly... or not talking at all.. I cant get use to this. I used to face a wall full of my decorative postcards etc.. but now.. i have another person sitting opposite me. yeah, there's not even a divider.. so i cant stare blank that obvious, I cant close my eyes and rest.. and coz open concept, I cant surf net.. Talking about online.. my pc is as slow as a SNAIL.. Worse than my PIII that i threw away..gotta be REALLY patient.

We have a large window.. good.. but too glaring when the sun is up and shining bright.. makes pple sleepy. haha~ Warm environment.. as in temperature. haha~ just nice. Dun have to bring jacket to work.

Lab coat and shoes provided. Gotta change the shoes just before going into the lab. That means, no dress code at all! Hahaa~ but its ok.. have to stay obedient for a while first... just wait til... after my probation period~!

My handphone spoilt on the first day of work~! You know, first day is usually boring.. i wanted to bring out my hp to sms others to waste my time.. but SPOILT. D*mn lo. haha~ lucky still under warranty.. so I'll bring it to service this weekend.. gotta borrow K750i from brother as temp phone.

I'm really tired of typing.. haha. so will continue part 2 tmr.

Expensive specs.

It's been raining since yesterday night.. nice weather to sleep in.. haah~ nothing much to do today.. so i guess i will start marking those prelabs and results sheets from yesterday's class.

Yesterday brought dear to the sushi place Steve's and guys went for my farewell.. Dear likes it.. just that it's really all rice.. so we got full after a while.. haha~

We went to make a pair of specs for the both of us.. hoping that we can start our new job with our new specs, new images. haha~ but then no difference lah.. all specs looked the same, unless we go for something daring and loud which really differ from what we wearing now.... the conservative me decided to get something "safer", a similar design to what i'm wearing now... just that it's black, half-frame with a visible logo "b" at the side... yeah.. i got a branded specs from agnes b.. and it's cost me about $239 jus for the frame.. without lens. (lucky we got amex card - 10% discount). Oh no... i'm getting brand conscious... i can only collect the specs on next thurs/fri... so i cant really start my job with new specs. haha

Last Day

Today's my last day of work. Great. Sense of relief. I received gifts from my friends and colleagues. I liked them. Those will be useful for my next workplace... A nice nice stain glass pencil holder, a cute cute guardian angel and a exclusively unique piere cardin pen. Thanks all. Thanks for all the nice memories.. making my 5 years in LNUS a nice one... hope to keep in contact!

Summary for dear's bday

This year dear's got the most expensive and most number of presents for his birthday from me. heh. Stingy me has thought it over.. as long as he enjoys / like it, money isnt much an issue (of course, the price must be reasonable too lah.)

I got him:
a 750ml nike water bottle
a one night romantic stay at siloso beach resort roof top suite including a 3 course dinner
an adidas sweater
a smash watch (not very ex coz he's only using it for jogging)
a braun buffel coin purse

So that's 5 presents in total!!! Spent up to 4 digits liao.. but i guess still cant compare with what he had given me... one sony vaio laptop can easy win all.. hm...

Anyway, 5 days left to my one week break... before starting on the new job.. looking forward!

Mini Farewell session

Hi ho, uploaded the pictures from siloso beach resort. Feel free to take a look! I got a mini farewell session from the CRU today.. Some sandwiches and eclairs kinda puffs... I like the farewell card most. heh.

Siloso Beach Resort

Sat I went out early to get what I intended to get for dear's birthday, before meeting him up for lunch (after his work at Suntec convention). After lunch, we went to look around.. at laptops.. esp Sony ones.. coz he's getting one for his next job.. He already decided on getting the SR series.. with a HP laserjet printer. Good. He has a lot of brand new "toys" to play around with. =) I'm envious.

We then went to Sentosa Siloso Beach Resort.. (and he thought we were going to Shangri-la...), checked in.. Once we opened the door, we were welcome by rose petals and balloons on the floor.. and then the "Happy Birthday" wordings on the bed.. and of course, we started taking pictures. I guess Sat was the day when dear spontaneously allow me to take a lot of pictures for him. haha~ He's touched. We had the 3 course dinner meal in the room.. and it taste great.. we also have the roof top jacuzzi. =) I took the scrub i bought from Batam and scrub for dear... I think these 2 days he will feel that he had the smoothest back out of his adult year. wahaha.

Sunday besides that complimentary breaksfast, our room also had complimentary 4 cans of soft drinks..(where initially we thought it costs money until we asked for the price list).. Plus we had complimentary 3 day pass for going in and out of sentosa via the monorail! Too bad we only used that on Sunday to get to vivo and had our lunch and bought a toy (for myself).. because afterall we had to get back our car which was still in the resort. Initially i thought of giving it to others who might have the chance to fully utilise the 3 day pass.. but dear said that we could keep the tickets as a keepsake. hee~

I think thats about all. sorta brief summary. I enjoyed myself during the stay at the beach resort. Friendly staff and nice environment with dear around. Words cant describe all.. and hence.. pictures~~~ which will be up most probably tonight. heh.

WEdnesday

Ytd my niece went to NUH to see a doc.. she has been having a fever on Monday, and ytd she was vomiting and complaining of stomach pain. We have no choice but to bring her to see a doc around 11.30pm plus... i hate all the naggings that my parents (esp my dad's) stupid. Cant he stay quiet during that commotion.. Baby was already crying and yet he was like yelling words at us.. (worse still, he kept yelling the same sentence... like a spoil CD player).. Anyway, baby-chan is fine now.. and resting at home..

Changing subject, dear will be changing job soon. He nxt job will be a home base one.. but need to travel a lot lah. hm.. guess what, the first rxn is saying "good for you~! plus, I can have your car~!" wahaaha.. I'm so bad.. He will be shouldering heavier responsibility for the new job.. as he is the sole contact person located in Singapore. Just hope that he wont be too stressed up for the new job... and one more thing that i envy.... his pay will be double mine...hmph..

One more thing, I was supposed to keep dear's pre-birthday celebration a secret til this sat... but the a slip of my tongue when my sister-in-law asked me whether i can attend baby-chan's pre birthday celebration this weekend.. oopps... So too bad that i cant go... but i promise baby-chan that I'll spend more time with her on her actual day! like bringing her go walk walk!

Ok.. time for some other stuff. haha.. There's class tonight.

Gim, Na, Vi and I met at 8 plus on Saturday morning at harbourfront Mac, all ready to board the ferry to Batam.. my very first batam spa trip experience. Was looking forward when we first booked the slots.. heh.

Reached there at 10am plus (batam time), checked in (but could only get into the room around 2pm), went to Nagoya town to "shop" a bit.. and ate A&W!!! How i missed the root beer float~! After that we walked around and the girls all bought (cheap but from a classy shop) Nail polishes... Since the mall didnt sell anything much that could catch our eye (plus they really overpriced), we might as well go to the hypermart to get tidbits for the night~! At the hypermart, we got a lot DIY spa scrub which is recommended by Na's cousin ( I got the most - 7 bottles : to give to friends) and I also got Tomato flavored potato chips for mum and dear =) After that, we rushed back to the resort and had our spa....

The spa was a bit disorganised... I shant talk about the bad experience that popped up here and there... anyway, first we were separated (2 by 2) and we went to have our full body scrub, then full body massage, shower, aromatherapy bath, shower again and back to the resort. =) and ya, we saw our partner's naked body. wahaha~ i'm shy initially..but after that we got used to it.. whahaha

We went back to the room and have a proper shower to remove the massage oil remnants.. then we went downstairs for our dinner (pizza)... and we went back into the room to play games... scrabble, uno, and poker. We had a fun time...=)

Sunday morning we went to have our breakfast, took some pictures at the pools, went back to the room again to take pics, play games again (with forfeit).. and it was raining real heavy.. we checked out at 12noon, hang around in the hotel lobby and played scrabble again while waiting for the shuttle bus to the ferry terminal...

Thats my brief (yet long)description to my batam spa experience.. I only spent S$30 bucks there. afterall i enjoy the fun and company and the scrub~! Relax enough and time for work again... Pictures will be up soon!

Happy Children 's Day

Tmr and Fri I have lab classes.. looking at the first practical, I think I wont be able to go back on time for the practicals.. plus, with those worksheets and results to go through and mark them... hm....

LUCKILY, for those important dates this month.. there's no classes on.. which is good~! I'm gonna enjoy myself with the upcoming spa trip to batam this weekend.. with Gim, Vi, Na. =) Then next weekend I have another small stayover at a preplanned ______ for my dear's pre-birthday celebration.. in addition, there's also no class on dear's actual birthday~! Hm.. gotta plan a bit..

My last working day is approaching... exactly 20 more days... Although i do look forward to my new job... but I still feel a tinge of sadness... afterall, I'm here for a reasonable amt of years. haa~ feelings of attachment.. to things like my desk, the carefree days etc... not forgetting my wonderful colleagues cum friends. =)
